Hands down the best coffee in town
This coffeehouse was among the first in refocusing the coffee experience around coffee itself. Its basic menu brings coffee back to the center of the experience.

Good coffee, but unfriendly atmosphere
The espresso drinks really are nicely made, but the staff tends to be cool and unfriendly in my experience. And although there's counter space, it's not really someplace you'd want to sit and savor and hang out. Get your coffee and have it on the little bench outside or at the park across the street.

the arrogant employees
Their attitude is ruining their coffee. Being arrogant for no reasons,,,,,we are not getting free coffee. It is not food stamp or refugee camp. I really don't know why it is necessary for the employees to be like that.

I wanted to like it...
...but, even if the coffee is good, it's extremely expensive (do not b.s. me with the fact that it's french pressed or whatever). I asked for a single shot cappuccino and was told with a huge attitude that they make it with a TRIPLE restricted shot. I said that i cannot have a lot of caffeine 'cause it could raise my heartbeats to bother me and was told "don't you worry, it's only for flavor not much caffeine". Do they know what they are talking about? 3 shots are not a lot of caffeine?? I didn't ask for a discount! Pastries are confined in a tiny display, not so good neither, plus (with only two more customers sitting at a table) we waited 15 minutes for a cappuccino and a latte... Whatever...

The Perfect Latte
The title of this post says it all: this place delivers the PERFECT espresso beverage. Don't cut yourself short by ordering a coffee, this place is all about the espresso. Sweet employees, too. All in all: a great experience.

Great Cofee But Not Much Else
For a great coffe this is your place. Some of the best to be had, bar none. If you are looking for personality, environment or cleanliness(hit or miss on this one) you should probably go somewhere else. The sad thing is, with the dirth of places serving even decent coffee Ninth Street is really one of the few games in town. The female baristas can be pretty hot, if that helps.

Latte Art
The perfect hybrid of the go-go-go culture our brilliant city thrives on, and the Italian perfection of a cappuccino. Prepare to dole out an extravagant sum: 3.75 for a latte, 4.75 for an iced latte...though 3.50 for a cappuccino; not too bad (!) and the eye candy is worth every penny, every barista is a male (hot in the grubby-I-would-like-to-scrub-him-with-some-soap sort of way) to the male readers of this review: sorry...maybe one or two women in the mix. With the heroin addicts on the benches mixed with the 500 dollar dogs awaiting their owners caffeine fix, the café is a centrifugal force representing the lower east side; i.e. the tourists confused about the junkie nodding off, asking repeatedly in a concerned-I-just-came-here-from-Ohio manner; “Are you okay?” Above and beyond what you stumble up as you enter the holy walls of the café kingdom is the dedication to latte art that Ninth St. Espresso is famous for. So, in a way you are buying art. Bottom line; for the perfect cappuccino Ninth St. Espresso is the place to go.
