    Night to Remember

This food was exceptional. The only bad part of the experience was the wait service is so so. I recommend the wings! Guys...do you have that party coming up for the Superbowl and you are wondering where your wings should come from? Wonder no longer! GO...run as fast as possible to Night of the Cookers so that you are able to try what i'm talking about. The sauce is not overwhelming at all. It is almost as though it is baked in straight to the bone. Not one bite was dissatisfying. The mashed potatoes were excellent but really if you are going to go for the wings...do them justice and have the mac and cheese...don't worry. If you loosen your belt buckle just a little no one will be able to tell that you just ate your body weight and food. The wings come in two sizes by the way...skinny girl and fat girl portions. Guess what I had. Follow this fat girl and have a lip smacking good time at the local jazz spot where the food is always right.

    Night of the Substandard

If you're looking to blow your money on mediocre food and poor service, you've found the right spot. When this restaurant first opened, it was one of my favorites, but over the years it has gone downhill. The drink menu has no prices and the standard response from the wait staff about the price is that the drinks start at $6 for alcoholic beverages. That would make sense if the non-alcoholic versions of the same drink didn't cost the same as the drink with alcohol. How disturbing is it that you pay the same for lunch as you do for dinner but get a smaller portion for lunch? They've also eliminated offering two sides with the entree and now offer only one, but have raised the price. Most importantly the cuisine has lost it's flavor and the staff adds nothing to the ambiance. They're overworked, unfriendly, and have very little to offer in terms of advice regarding entrees and specials. I've had it with this restaurant if you want to call it that.

    "The RumPunchKing"

A group of us stopped in 3 weeks ago and had a blast! Standing room only. We had some drinks at the bar while waiting for our table. (approx. 20 minutes) No sweat the music up front was great. Usually I'm a "red meat man" but my friends have been pushing me towards a healthier diet so I went the "Seafood" route. the salmon was to die for. I had two orders. Our waiter was great. Even though he was servicing other guest, we never felt neglected. He was always within eye contact. Big Props to the staff. Will definitely stop in again next time I'm in Brooklyn.

    great portions, great food!

my husband and i just had the best meal there! i had a veggie platter with mashed potato, yams, and mac and cheese, served with corn bread and my husband had stuffed chicken breast. everything had wonderful flavor. i didn't need to add any salt to my dish, corn bread was sweet and moist, yams were cooked perfectly, not too soft and mushy, and not too hard, they were cooked to perfection! my husbands chicken was not only a huge portion, but it was also cooked perfectly, moist and juicy, how chicken should be. the veggies were sauted nicely and had wonderful flavor. the mac and cheese was made with real cheese, not some soupy sauce, and were made with a smoked cheese, maybe tilimook (sp?) cheddar. i really wanted to try the desserts which sounded delicious. but i was just too stuffed! wonderful service. the atmosphere was great, and made me feel like i was back in a nice little bar in new orleans. we were seated quickly, and the staff was awesome! you should definitely check this place out!

    Wow, I'm Surprised!

Since I work in the area, we go to Cookers quite often especially for business meetings. We love the service, we love the food, and the lounge in the back room is both comfortable and a great place to have a small meeting. I'm sorry about ya'lls experiences but try them on a less crowded day.

    20% Gratuity? No Thanks.

Recently visited Night of the Cookers a second time - this time for lunch on a weekday. Wasn't impressed with the range of choices on the lunch menu, but we found some acceptable dishes and ordered, receiving friendly but average service. While the food was decent, the service was definitely not worth the 20% gratuity they tacked onto the bill - this being for a party of only two! I like to decide the amount of my tips based on atmosphere, food quality, and service, and I suspect that most other customers like to do the same. There was no warning of this on the menu, either. For a restaurant to slap its customers in the face with the bill as they head out the door is deeply offensive, and next time I will head elsewhere.
