All the food is very good in this stalwart southern Italian, veal, shrimp, vegetables. Portions are a good size. For four people with no drinks and three appetizers with tax it was $160. Service is very good. The patrons are as my daughter pointed out - on the elderly side, with a lot of "regulars" that get greeted warmly by the staff. You will receive a good meal at a fair price.

Scallops were dry and sandy, wouldn't recommend. Friends shrimp marinara, which is usually great, was more tomato paste flavored. Veal parmigiana good but got home only to find pasta bolognese , which was really good, was not included in our take-out. Caesar salad was great as was the special osso bucco. Not going back for a while.

They have two choices of whites by the glass and they were both undrinkable, as is the red. Which is probably why most diners were drinking cocktails with their meals. Caesar salad was ok. Cannaloni was mush. Veal special was just ok. But the place was jammed in spite of a less than stellar performance including the service. Last time for us.

I have been coming here for 40 years and it has been consistently delicious. Special occasions, first dates, every day casual, business- it fits all.

I have been a regular at Nicolas for years and I have never had a bad experience. Amazing food and great service. Unbelievable chicken parm. Their specials are always great too. It gets busy though so best to make a reservation after 7pm.

The best veal in town. Parmigiana, Milanese, w eggplant any way. Freshest fish, great clam sauce or shrimp marinara. Terrific pastas. Great service (especially if they know you). Occasional stars and great big drinks.

The Veal Emiliana is out of this world- thinly sliced scallops cooked to perfection. No one serves green beans like Nicola's which also give you a decent sized glass of wine. Yes, it can be a bit noisy, but the tables are placed so you can still have a private conversation and the staff is quite attentive, many have been there a long time. I have been going there for years and have never been disappointed with the quality of the food or service.
