    Cheap Eats..

These sandwiches are delicious! They're so affordable.

LES check it out - good value & good food

This is a cute family owned kind of place, take-out. This is a great little joint esp. considering location. Where else outside Chinatown in Manhattan can you find these sandwiches and the Bun vermicelli plates made fresh? Ask for x-tra veggies in your sandwich...yum.

    Not worth it

Snug little place with 5 seats but do my eyes deceive me? Don't I get more in the Banh Mi elsewhere? And isn't it cheaper than $3.95. Not worth it.

    Better to be had elsewhere

Nicky's is nice enough the people and the place, but their vietnamese sandwich is really not much to talk about! They use corned beef rather than some roast pork mixture, and this makes all the difference. We have tried every place in manhattan and even trekked out to brooklyn for the banh mi dac biet, and this place is the most expensive (four bucks!) and the weakest. in taste and authenticity..sorry...but it is true!

    Tasty

The classic Vietnamese sandwich is very good. If you ask for it to be spicy, beware that it's quite spicy. The baguette is perfectly toasted and still warm even after a 15 minute walk back to work.

    Fresh and hearty deliciousness

I've tried plenty of Vietnamese sandwiches (banh mi) living near the Little Saigon area of California, the largest Vietnamese community outside of that country. It has a sea of sandwich shops, but NYC has a formidable match in Nicky's. The baguettes are consistently a perfect golden brown, crispy on the outside and soft within. The greens are fresh and are well complemented by the tasty meats. It takes more time than one might expect to get a sandwich from the friendly staff, but it's well worthwhile.

    Good food

This place is pretty good. The staff is friendly and the sandwiches hit the spot. So far I've tried the pork chop and chicken sandwiches. I'm going to try the sardine sandwich next. One thing though, there's often a line and since they make the sandwiches fresh, there's sometimes a wait. I try to go at off hours to beat the crowd.
