    Not the best...

Went in for a spicy Viet chicken sandwich, it was very disappointing. A bit over priced, carrots and cucumber were not pickled at all and there was hardly any mayo. I have had Vietnamese sandwiches for half the price and stacked. The spicy option was extra jalepeno peppers, which ended up being the first bite i took, it completely threw the whole sandwich off, over powered the taste, and ruined my pallet for the rest of the meal. 2 stars cause I'm being nice.. But I definitely will not give it a second chance. Ps. The portabello sandwich was not even on the menu.

    What a pleasure!

The Bahn mi here are fabulous, and the people who run it are so friendly and helpful. I even came in once with my hair down when it was hot and the owner just gave me her own hairclip! what a sweetie. anyway, tasty and cheap and friendly. what's not to love?

    My favorite lunch

I love having beef pho and iced coffee for lunch at Nicky's. I linger over my bowl of steaming soup and always leave pleasantly stuffed (Marvelling to myself, I can't believe I ate the whole thing.) Its a great hangover cure, by the way. Their bahn mi are delicious as well, although you probably want to keep your distance from other people after eating the classic. That pate is some potent stuff. The family that runs Nicky's are pleasant and accommodating. Its always super busy in there. Today I waited a bit long for my order and they really went above and beyond in making up for it. The room is definitely bare bones but its part of the charm. It can get super hot in there even in the winter, though today the A/C was maintaining. On the upside, there is usually a good CD playing and a supply of NY Mags to keep you entertained. On top of it all, an actual bike rack out front to park your ride. Now getting back on your bike with a stomach full of pho, that's another story.

    Great Bahn Mi

I go to school about 5 blocks from here and regularly make the trek, weather be damned, to eat these tasty sandwiches. They're incredibly cheap for the quality and always are made with very fresh ingredients. The bread is delicious, drinks are great, everything is great. I'm very thankful to have a vietnamese option outside of Chinatown and easily accessible.

    Very good

Sandwiches are the bomb. Nice family that runs it. $5 for a sandwich that is really tasty and fresh - why would you ever go to subway? Will be returning regularly.

    I'm sold!

I had a Classic Vietnamese delivered for the first time this week and I loved it! I tried a friend's sardine sandwich and hers was great, too. It is one of my new favorite neighborhood places.
