You've got to try it!
I have been to Nick's twice now and have been impressed both times. Their pizza is amazing - fresh toppings, including fresh mozerella cheese! The prices may be a bit high, but the plates are big enough to feed a few people. The servers have always been polite and attentive, and the atmosphere is also nice. I recommend the pizza and the chicken parm. Yum!

A Life Preserver
Restaurants like this are an utter blessing for certain neighborhoods, especially the culinary wasteland of the UES above 86th Street. Family-style Italian can often be as fraught with tension as a real-life dinner back in Bensonhurst, but here all goes smoothly. The pizza is terrific, albeit a bit overpriced, the calamari cooked perfectly--hard to find in moderate Italian restaurants--the service attentive and the atmosphere peaceful yet ornate in design. One wonders where the locals would be left if this place ever closed. Avoid the back room; it lacks the intimacy of the classically ambient front.

Splendid
The service, as read on other posts, was not exceptionally good. However, I have been four times and although the service was bad on some nights, it did little to affect the enjoyability of the evening. It has a great atmosphere, fantastic pizza, and a decent wine list. Great bang for your buck, there is not reason to bicker about prices if you can compare to other venues in NYC. You must try this pizza!

Good food, the people? Ehh...
It's hit or miss with the waiters here, but the food is uniformly good.

Great Food....High Prices
The food is great there especially the pizza but $20 for a pie with a topping is a bit much.

Great food
Everything here is delicious and very reasonably priced! The atmosphere is what one should expect for a pizza joint, definitely try the chicken dishes and salads, they are surprisingly wonderful.

delicious!
This place is by far the best pizza place I have gone to in the city. I have waited in line to get into all the "best pizza" resaurants, but Nick's blows the competition away! This is the pizza that deserves the line around the corner.
