Nick's is the best pizza on the upper east side. I am a big fan. The delivery is great and the people are quite friendly. They know us by name and are very polite and always get out order right. Not once in 2 years of ordering have they gotten any of my orders wrong. So good!

I was one of the first customers to patronize Nick's when customer service and well prepared food were priorities. Tonight I ordered a large pizza and said I would be back in about 15 minutes to pick it up. When I arrived back, the pizza was behind the counter rather than being kept warm on top of the oven. When I asked the waiter if the pizza was still hot he said that it was as it had only been behind the counter for about 5 minutes I live one block from Nick's and when I arrived home, the pizza was not only cold but I think they forgot to put the cheese on it. What I had was cold dough and sauce with a sprinkling of cheese. In general, Nick's food is just very ordinary and possibly enjoys a decent crowd because it is the only pizza restaurant in that vicinity.

We ordered take out and it arrived 15 mins ahead of the promised time. We ordered pizza w/ sausage/ olives/ mushrooms. It was too salty (probably due to a combination of the sausage and black olives). I would skip the olives next time. The veal in the oven was good, but my husband thought it was not necessarily something he would order again. The basic salad was very fresh, the dressing was a balsamic - not impressive. Overall would order from them again

This place is great...family style huge portions, good fresh pies, pastas and salads, and a nicer atmosphere to eat-in than the local pizza joint. Standard red sauce Italian fare, nothing mindblowing but solid...even the marsala was good and that is the litmus test for me...(though only three thin cutlets, a little light there, but tons of mushrooms and sauce for the bread...i was full by the end!) I am a chowhound and I love this place...every meal does not have to be gourmet or cost $50 for 2 people. Try the house arugula salad...it's tops! even better with shaved parm on it!

I got pizza, spaghetti, mussels and salad. The salads seem overpriced, but they are huge! Most of the portions which seem overpriced are family style. Delivery was fast. Person who took my order on the phone didn't quite get the pizza toppings right (missed one) but the delivery is fast and friendly. Most importantly, the food tastes great! Never been in there so don't know about the atmosphere of the place.

If you are foodie, yes, you would be disappointed. This is a lively, fun place to eat casual Italian food. Don?t expect complex & sophisticated flavor - just expect lots & lots of garlic. As MR. STRAIGHT TALK pointed out, this place has heavy NY/NJ attitude (w/ strong Brooklyn/NJ accent!?). The air is definitely blue collar.

After all the wonderful reviews I've read I ordered from Nick's. I was disappointed to say the least. If you like thin crust pizza elsewhere can be much better than Nick's. Maybe they are better if you eat in vs. ordering delivery. However, I don't plan on finding out.
