    Subpar food meets fantastic service

The atmosphere and the value were decent (portions are pretty big) but I was really disappointed in the food. It wasn't that anything was bad, it was just very underwhelming. I wish the food had been really better because I really liked the people and the place, but I don't really have a desire to go back.

    Great service!

I have been to Nick's a couple of times and I am always amazed by the incredible service there. The waiters work together like a well-oiled machine and the food is always delicious, though a bit salty for my taste. My favorite is the fresh baked rolls that you are greeted with upon seating. Nick's is a great restaurant and a welcome change from some of the places in the neighborhood with lackluster service.

    excellent

I eat at Nicks some Fridays with my co-worker. We love the atmosphere and most of all the rolls with the oil, very healthy. The grill chicken ceasar salad is excellent, so is the lasagna.

    What happened?

I agree with the most recent posting, unfortunately. We used to love Nick's and ordered delivery last night. Not only did they get the order wrong, but the crust was soggy and the pizza overall very mediocre. We've ordered delivery before, and it was always great. Back to Totonnos for us.

Used to be best, Now the Crust is OFF

We order from Nicks at least once a week- and it was always our favorite on upper east side...But something is up with the dough/crust lately and its more like low end pizza with fresh mozz and great sauce on top- Did they start cheaping out on the materials? The last 3 times we ordered a pie it was not right. Nick, whats up?! Get back, or we will start making our own pies at home.

    I Love Nick's! It's the best!

I have had just about everything and the rest of the menu is just as good as their pizza. The calzone's are to die for - the spaghetti and meatballs are excellent, and the breast of chicken in lemon and butter is perfection. The side order of asparagus with garlic completes any meal. The tiramisu is fabulous as are the canollis. What's really great is the service. Whenever I call for delivery, they answer the phone saying hello to me by name. They are always so friendly when they are taking my order and also always give me a time estimate for when my food will arrive. The prices are really reasonable since they offer the half-order option. My boyfriend and I will order two half-orders plus a side of asparagus and we will always left-overs. Perfect Sunday night alternative to Chinese food!

    Yum!

Yes. Nick's has the best eggplant parmesan in the city! Try the penne vodka too! They're also great in delivery..really quick when the resto is not so busy. Best pick when you want an amazing italian dinner at home during a cold winter night.
