Chicken sandwich to die for
I found the experience to be extremely pleasent, I took my mom here for mother's day and we just loved the small area and friendly waiters. The coffee was perfect and the chicken sandwich was so amazing that driving a hour from upstate is all worth it. I would definately recommend this place to anyone.

A night well spent
I went here for dinner with a few friends from out of town. As soon as we were settled in a man with a huge voice welcomed us to dinner and we started the party. His recommendations were so good (I could order two platters of the zucchini chips and have a meal with that alone.) My friends had mostly pastas, but I had the recommended chicken and it was pure COMFORT food. I had no room for dessert, I thought, but when the waiter told us that it was the "heart of the meal", and that they had bourbon butter pecan gelato, I couldn't resist. it was better than I ever expected. I want to have this place be my secret, but the world must know how good it is.

service issues
The quality of the meal was destroyed by the service. We waited 10 minutes just to get the menus, another 10 to get the check, and another 10 for our credit card to return (AND they had given us the wrong person's check). The food is decent, but for the price, I expect much better wait service. You can do much better with other restaurants on the Upper West Side.

No Enchanted Evening
Should have been tipped off by the empty dining room. A very long wait for our supposedly fresh fish entrees was followed by a miniscule portion of an overcooked filet. No bread was offered, and when we asked for some, it did not arrive until long after we had finished our entrees. The bread was good, however, crusty and fresh. Perhaps a problem in the kitchen on a quiet Sunday afternoon, but inattentive and occasionally surly service combined with mediocre to poor food resulted in a less than pleasurable pre- theatre (South Pacific) dining experience.

Pleasantly surprised!
Service sealed the deal! Never been before, although I am very familiar with its tony East Hampton location, will certainly go again. Food is vaguely similar, I believe they source most locally, and wonderfully left alone to its own strengths. The scallops are possibly the largest I have ever seen (con shell!), still had a nice sweetness and texture, the whole fish is unmissable. Nice to have an under the radar spot to grab an impromptu dinner after Lincoln Ctr. p.s. I cannot believe they give those olives away for FREE for starters, its hard to behave yourself when you know they will give you more!

Don't waste your time
Our trip to Nick and Tonis was flat out unpleasant. Not only was the food just "ehhh" and over priced, the service was not good. What appeared to be the manager, seemed very disinterested. It was an uncomfortable feeling of he felt he was above us. Again, the same feeling from the server. Very uninterested. When asking a question, I felt like I was being dismissed, like he couldnt be bothered to answer my question. Anyway, the food was just ok. For the amount of money we spent on a salad and an entree, it wasnt that great. Wont be going back.
