I had dinner with my parents and fiance, and it was fantastic. The appetizers and entrees were delicious, we had hummus and a great dish with beets and goat cheese. My mother and I had the five-napkin burgers and they definitely lived up to their name -- although I would suggest ordering it medium rare and not medium for maximum sloppiness. This is a great neighborhood restaurant, a little pricey (my fiance said he couldn't justify spending 16.50 on a burger), but still a very nice meal for a night out. My parents really enjoyed the food and are already planning to take us there the next time they come into the city.

I was not impressed. Although the service was lovely and the place was bistrolike, I thought the food was pedestrian. I had the 5 napkin burger and it was not a juicy burger. One napkin would suffice. I like the $4.50 burgers at the Burger Joint at the Parker Meridian. It was not even a third as good. The fish was ok and the chicken special not much better. THe waiter was so nice and the beer on tap was tasty.

I've eaten here four times...twice on business and twice with a friend...and this is one of my favorites in New York. Service has always been great (although my entertainment client being easily recognized may have had something to do with that), and the food has always been quite good. This is a very energetic place and a wonderful experience. You should go!

Three out of four of us ordered the special Branzino fish. It was delicious but the tiniest portion I have ever seen. "A nice hors d'oeuvre" one friend said. With the bill close $150 including tip, there should be more food on the plate.

I live around the corner from Nice Matin and have been in at all hours of the day. During their first year I enjoyed the food but found the attitude and service problematic. I avoided the place. I was brought back earlier this year and I have been quite surprised. I have felt welcomed and attended to, listened to by waiter, etc Did they have a change in management? Are the waiters on Prozac? Couldn't tell you, but I am a happy denizen of Nice Matin these days.

We ate there on a beautiful Sunday afternoon around 4:00 p.m. Clearly, this is when the waitstaff would like to be on break and has had enough of the UWS clientele. Our waitress disappeared for 20 minute intervals after each time she came to our table. We could not get her attention and she was clearly frazzled. Waitstaff is not of the caliber that you would expect at a restaurant priced like this one. Food was very good but we didn't get much. We would go back for another try but certainly the expectations are lowered. They need to get some better waitstaff on board.

My husband and I recently had a very pleasant Sunday brunch. The restaurant is bright and cheery. The menu choices were plentiful, the food was excellent and the coffee was wonderful. The prices were very reasonable for the nice size portions. The service was excellent. Well worth the 10 minute wait.
