Decided to check it out after reading some good reviews. Totally not worth it. The hanger steak tasted like charcol from outside and 15 bucks for a glass of wine!! Are u kidding me.

I have been in the neighborhood for years and always walked past Nice Matin and looked longingly at that bar...and last night, I went in and enjoyed it fully. Great vibe. Great people. Great bar tenders. And oh yes, one of my favorite wines ever by the glass (Laetitia Pinot Noir). I was not fortunate enough to have a bite there but will be back for sure and will sit at the bar...that great, rambling, FUN bar. For a Monday night? You could not do better.

The most disappointing meal we've ever had there. Took forever for the drinks and wine. Food had to be sent back for more cooking. They were out of wine we ordered and cheese plate - tho the menu had just started. Suggest the management get their act together at these prices.

I have eaten at Nice a few times now and the food is always excellent! I had a server who knew what she was talking about with the wines and food. She made the night so enjoyable. At the end of the meal I spilled wine on my skirt and she rushed over with club soda and helped me clean up... that is the type of service that makes a New York restaurant great. I will be back soon!

I've eaten here twice. Both times the food was very enjoyable but the sound level was way too high. It was impossible to have a conversation. Many NY restaurants seem to have the same problem which could be easily remedied with a little sound treatment. I probably won't return.

As a regular here at Nice Matin, I have always enjoyed a quality meal with good service. Lately, however, I have notice an alarming fall off in the quality of the wait-staff. Today, the waiter tried to remove a plate from the table, from which a patron was still eating, and then asked us if wanted dessert menus now. He also never checked back to see if we needed more drinks during the course of the meal. I hope this is not something that will be the norm in the future.

I’ve been here quite a few times with my girlfriend. The food is pretty good for the hood, but I decided to write comment not about the food but for a constant practice I’ve observed. It seems they always try to up-sell my date from the wine she orders to another (which “would go so much better with her dish”) to far more expensive one where the price is not listed. The additional cost is usually about $4 per glass or $8 per the meal. It doesn’t kill me or break the bank, but I think the business practice is a little sketchy, and I would just rather not have the game. Has anyone else observed this?
