Nice Matin is a solid place to go to if you cannot think of anywhere else to go especially if you want to dine outdoors. The food is well over priced for food of this ilk but it is solid. We asked for a table outside in the shade and it was not set yet nor was it dirty it just hadn't been set up. When we could not wait any longer since someone in our party clearly was using a cane and could not stand much longer we asked to sit outside at any table, subsequently the hostess was rude and abrupt and sat people who just walked in and kept us standing. The food was solid and seasoned well with the exception of eggs florentine. The spinach was not drained of excess liquid and inundated the plate with liquid saturating all the items on the dish. One meal came with yogurt for the lamb. We found out on the bill that an extra condiment size of yogurt which we asked for since we used all the yogurt was an extra $1.50. Really!? A place such as this would rather nickel and dime you than retain a customer.

Hadn't been here for at least ten years, and wanted a place with more atmosphere than a coffee shop, that actually served breakfast. After a warm greeting by the host, all went downhill. Service was remarkably inattentive, omelets were overcooked and tough, toast was as chewy as though it had been toasted and held under a bowl to steam. Hash browns? Mooshy, orangish pile. I wondered aloud how Nice Matin has managed to stay in business for so long. Then the waiter came to ask if we were staying at the Lucerne. Ah, so that's how they do it!

If you like a place where conversation must be shouted, then come here. If you want a menu that reads well but is bland and tired, then come here. If you want a massive wine list and high prices, then come here. If you need to wait until desert to have a good taste, then come here. I did but will not be back......

First, I love this restaurant. I work around the corner and regularly eat here for breakfast or lunch. The food is consistent and tasty (especially the crab cobb salad). The prices are a bit steep for what it is. $30 for a breakfast of eggs, bacon and granola with fruit is a bit much. My only real issue is with the service which is CONSISTENTLY poor. The waitstaff are always very friendly and knowledgeable but seem to be undermanned and exceptionally inattentive. I like when a waiter doesn't hover over you during a meal, but once your food is brought to the table, you are lucky if you ever see your waiter again, even to pay the bill. For the price, the service needs to be top-notch. Still, it's a great place in a great location.

Food is good, but at 7:30 you could not hear anyone at your table the noise is incredible, even with the doors to outside dining open. The glass of wine could not have been more than 3 oz.

Always a great choice on the UWS. The host manager (with whom I made our family dinner reservation with) and GM work in sync with one another in taking care of their guests and making sure the service runs without a hitch. Place has really improved over the past couple of years.

Took someone for a birthday dinner. They gave us a nice booth for just the two of us. Everyone was so friendly and efficient. The food was great. OK, $18+ for a burger is a bit much but it was really good. Otherwise the prices are pretty reasonable. Has a really fun vibe. We had a great experience!
