    Excellent!

I love this place! The owner is always warm and friendly, and the food is delicious. It's a small place with only a few places to sit, but the sandwiches are tasty and the summer rolls are even better. I definitely recommend trying it out!

    good and chep and cheerful

Just tried the banh mi and it was really tasty and very authentic! I'm vietnamese and have eaten banh mi in lots of different countries and this one is definately worth a try!!

    unpleasant

I've given this place 3 shots, and will never return again. I'm all about authentic, homestyle food (and supporting local businesses!), but this place isn't all that. It's small, cramped. And the food was...ugh. The shredded pork with skin was the absolute pits. I'm not sure if the owner and his peeps were having an off day, but my sandwich was ALL slimy skin and a few scattered bits of dry pork. The chicken breast was even nastier...the friend I split it with said it smelled like tuna. It reminded me of chicken breast from a can. Briny, water-logged, and just plain inedible. On top of that, I don't find the owner all that warm. Yes, he's chatty and loves to hear his voice...but in the typical "Yo yo yo, I'm too cool for school!" sort of way. Just yelling around that your food is great and authentic doesn't make it a truth. And badmouthing your competition in front of your customers isn't very nice either. Sorry, but I'm not recommending this place to anyone unless they shape up, and clean up!

    Fred's the man!

The Banh Mi is delicious! I'm no expert on Vietnamese food, so I can't vouch for authenticity. That said, Fred makes one tasty sandwich. The vibe is nice...it's very small though, you'll probably want to get take out and eat in the park. Service is great and the price ain't bad.

    Best Banh Mi in Williamsburg

Discovered this little jewel yesterday and I am hungry for more as I am going through withdrawals already. Tucked in between two stores you'll find a charming little hole in the whole with BIG flavors!Their Summer rolls and sandwiches are mouthwatering comfort goodness in each bite you take. Try their speciality sandwich the "Pho" Banh Mi and you'll be hooked, no joke.

    not bad at all

i did think the curry chicken bahn mi tasted like a spicy version of chicken salad. the owner/chef is a super nice guy though and i am willing to go back and try something else.
