Gets better all the time
Love this place, and it's continuing to get better and better. The sushi is by far the best in the neighborhood - definitely check out the bento box for a good sampling of everything - and drink specials are great. Half price bottles of wine? Awesome! The waiters are really fun and friendly, consistantly good service. Love it!

Can't be beat!
This is by FAR the best restaurant in the area. The sushi is fabulous, the pasta delicious, the portions generous, and the prices great for the amount that you get. They have a nice wine list with many organic wines and half-price bottles on Thursday nights! Their mixed drinks and martinis are creative and delicious. The one downfall of this place is that it sometimes gets so busy that the food takes a while, but it is worth the wait! To avoid crowds come early or on weeknights. Next Door is a true neighborhood find, and the servers and bartenders will treat you like family! Can't say enough about this wonderful little place!

Great little place in the Heights...
My girlfriend and I tried this place for the first time and thought it was fantastic. The fish was very fresh, the appetizer was amazing, and our drinks were also great. The wait staff were very nice, and quick. I would highly recommend for anybody in the Washington Heights area. It is a great value, and much easier than going all the way downtown.

Great!
Best sushi in the area! The service definitely leaves something to be desired (short staffed, slow to bring you your drink)- but the food makes up for it - it is consistently wonderful !!

A solid neighborhood choice
Next Door is one of my neighborhood stand-by's. The food is always well prepared and tasty. I find the service to be pretty spot-on, occassionally a bit slow but I'd prefer slow over rushed. I've ordered in and had take out and the food is always good whether its sushi, pasta or a tuna burger! If you're looking for a good place up in the Heights definitely check out Next Door.

Moronic Service, Bland Food, Nice Decor
With limited local options, we have dined at ND four times since it opened. Don't be fooled, it is still bad. One dish cold, another impossibly hot and the sushi is (consistantly) dry and awful. Even the Miso soup is bad. The coke is flat and syruppy. There's nothing for kids. The service, though well intended, was dreadful. The waitress was a smiling zombie with tunnel vision - it was impossible to catch her eye. The bus boy has something far more interesting going on in the kitchen. The place looks great. Much better to leer in as you pass than actually spend your money (way too expensive as well.)

great !
Fantastic food! Best dishes are the meatloaf, balsamic chicken, turkey meatballs...the sushi is the best and freshest around. Sometimes the service is less than perfect, but the food is so good, its worth it....I am pretty discriminating when it comes to restaurants- and this place is without a doubt, some of the best food I have had in Manhattan.
