Used to be the best Not anymore
We used to get pizza delivered weekly from here and it was amazing. Not anymore. What a shame. Must be new management.

Best pizza in nyc
I eat here almost everyday for lunch. I've had a lot of pizza in my day, this one has a really authentic, unique taste to it that doesn't feel greasy and heavy after you eat it...I've recommended it to friends and they go all the time! Service is incredible; even at lunch's busiest hours, the workers by the oven are fast and efficient. A must have!!

amazing!
It saddens me to think that for my entire life I didn't know what pizza was simply because I hadn't had this pizza until a week ago. My new boyfriend who happens to live around the corner from this place has been eating pizza here since he was a kid and is on a first name basis with the owner Joe whose father owned it for over 40 yrs. These people know how to make pizza. I like the fresh mozzarella and basil. The crust is thin and slightly charred, the sauce is tangy and slightly sweet and the cheese is just so fresh (they make their own). I never liked pizza until I had this pizza. You guys have a new customer and I'm letting all my friends know.

What happened?
What happened? This place used to have the greatest pizza! But it definitely took a turn for the worst. The pizza is not what it used to be. I like a well done pizza but more often than not, it's burnt. Where's the cheese? They seemed to have cut back on the cheese bigtime. Then the sauce! The sauce is what really made this pizza great. It lost its nice sweetness and is actually sour at times now and a little too much of it. I hope they didn't change the recipe, but it looks like it. Maybe it's new management, since it has been remodeled lately. This is just recent because i have been eatin this pizza for years and would give it a 5 if it were the old pizza. So dissappointing!

Going Against The Grain: Didn't Like It
This pizza place and Italian restaurant is located right near Penn Station in New York. They have been in business for over 40 years. . Now I have to admit that I am going “against the grain” if you will Swimming upstream. Going backwards up the stairs. Why? Because other people who have reviewed this place gave it high marks. I just cannot do that. So why did I not like this place? First of all, very rushed service. Instead of “What would you like?” or “Can I help you?” They simply YELL “NEXT!” Like fast-food pizza. Yes they serve a lot of people this way, but with poor attitude. The atmosphere is very mediocre, but then again, I can forgive that because it is just a pizza joint. They have seating for about 30 people. There is really no ambiance or table service if you were to order a meal. But I can let that go too. What I cannot let go is the quality. The slice that I got was overcooked o n the bottom, had very little cheese, and the sauce was runny. It just goes to figure I was wearing a white shirt so you do the math. The slice had very little flavor, the sauce was nothing to write home about, and overall it was just OK at best. It was something to fill an empty stomach, that’s the best way to describe it. Oh and the price? $3.00 for a slice of pepperoni. Add in the root bear I had and it came to $4.50. Too much money for the quality of food.

Made my trip to NY worth it.
I took a bus to NY from the Washington DC area. I was cold and tired after a long day of fighting the Holiday crowds. I just wanted to get something to eat, sit down and warm up. I walked in and immediately felt like family. The staff was excellent. They seemed to enjoy their job. I then meet the owner who was the nicest person I meet in NY or any other place. They made me happy that I had made the trip. I always heard NY had the best pizza. Being Italian I am very picky about the Italian food I eat. Wow, I loved this pizza. Not too greasy, the ricotta was fabulous, chewy and crunchy at the same time. If I ever go back to NY. I know where I'll be stopping.

NY Pizza Suprema
After learning that I had to attend the ISC Expo at the Javits Center, I checked out my route from Penn Station on Google Earth and found NY Pizza Suprema. I am so glad I did. My much anticipated first two slices (I had four) were on their way to a plate before the door had shut behind me and it was just like I had read. Crispy, thin, foldable crust, sweet tomato sauce and just the right amount of cheese. So, if for any reason, you're at Madison Square Garden or Penn Station, for whatever reason, look just south to 31st and 8th for what pizza was meant to be. You'll be glad you did.
