New Management Bites the Big One
Sunny East used to be amazing. It has literally gone down in a blaze of mediocrity with new ownership. Fresh vegetables and good wok skills have been replaced with sweet, sticky, badly-cooked food. What a shame.

always great
I order from them all the time and am totally spoiled by their well cooked non-squishy or slimy meat. Now when I go to other restaurants I look at the menu with a sense of dread. I'm most experienced with the chicken or vegetable dishes, all good. The hot and sour soup used to be awesome but they must have changed the recipe.

Delicious food
I love their special Sunny East Jade Fried Rice. The rice color is green, made out of spinach juice. Very delicious!!!

So not good.
Everything was poor quality and even small portions. Definitely not and good value, and delivery was slow as well. Even my rice was over cooked...

Wonderful place
I just move into the neighborhood and was looking for a good Chinese restaurant nearby, and found this place right around the corner. Not a big place but very cozy. They recommended the General Tso's Prawn (I was dying for seafood that night). Anyway the food was ready quick. The shrimp is very fresh and the sauce is delicious! Me and my husband just fall in love with their spicy general two sauce. Will definitely order from them again.

unbelievable
It was xmas day and I didn't want to hunt around for a Chinese restaurant that was open, so against my better judgement I went to Sunny East where I've ordered from before. It was bad then and it was even worse this last time. All I needed was 2 quarts of white rice and 2 quarts of young chow fried rice. I figured how could any Chinese restaurant mess up white rice and not do a decent job on a specialty fried rice. Sunny East found a way. The white rice was hard and dry when it should have been soft , fluffy and moist. IMHO not being able cook white rice reflects on whatever else they cook.. And it was borne out. The young chow fried rice was terrible. Few added ingredients, none of which was distinct from the usual fried rice options. There were a few tiny shrimps, maybe an egg (scrambled), a handful of peas, roast pork that was old, stringy and shriveled and a couple of bits of scallion. There were no bean sprouts, no onions, no lettuce, no carrots, no pork sausage, no ham, no chicken.. There were no sauces added: no soy sauce, no oyster sauce, no sesame oil no nothin. The stringy pork was not diced as all the ingredients are supposed to be. I was hard pressed to find an open place and I deseve what I got at this dreadul place. Also, the reviewer who said the young chow fried rice was good probably never knew what goes into it.

VERY impressed
I stopped in at this place about 3 months ago while moving. Didn't expect to find such delicious Chinese food. Ordered the Chicken with Black Black Bean Sauce, and the Yang Chow Fried Rice. I'm hooked. Whether you're sitting down to eat, or having it delivered (delivery times have ALWAYS been quick), I'm sure you won't be disappointed. And they have a really cute little dog as well. :-)
