I been a customer for about 2 years. tired all other places around upper westside, this is the best. food is fresh very authentic taste. and they are fast, I was still holding the phone when the guy ring my door.. almost. Try their fry wings or garlic wings, very tasty and not oily. best fry baby shrimp and Sesame noodle.. But everthing else is also great..

I went to this place with my girlfriend on a Sunday afternoon. We eat Chinese a lot and usually order the same things so we can rank restaurants for our selves. If the first time we like it we will try other things. The first thing you notice when you step into the restaurant it that there is no atmosphere. The restaurant is a small place with three tables. One of the table had boxes of menus on it. The service was basic, no "hello" just a "whats your order". After placing our order we waited for about 10 minutes. I ordered the general tsao chicken combo and she ordered the beef with broccoli combo. We also ordered chicken wings for appetizers. We couldn't eat inside because the other customers waiting for food was sitting at the tables already so we had to leave to eat. When we finally found a place to sit and eat we were disappointed to say the least. The general Tsao chicken were soft no crunch, the sauce was flavorless neither sweet nor spicy, the broccoli were old and soggy. The fried rice was bland and had very few piece of veggies or pork. The egg roll had no flavor. The beef and broccoli had no sauce on it. The beef was chewy the broccoli did not appear to be cooked. Our chicken wings were ok except they were burnt and the meat was dry. Overall it was a terrible, not worth the 18 or so dollars I spent. Definitely not the best Chinese food in the upper west side. After reading the reviews I get a sense that a lot of them are written by the same people trying to promote the restaurant. Maybe its just me..

This place must be doing something right. New Kam Lai now have three restaurants on the UWS. Their newest is on 84th and Amsterdam which is right around the corner from me. They offer the same great service and food at affordable prices as their other two places. New Kam Lai, great for the UWS.

My favorite chinese place on the UWS! Great dumplings, lo mein, and combo platters. Depending on how much you spend, you get a couple of free sodas, which is a nice bonus. The portions are huge, I always have leftovers for days. Fast delivery, really cheap, good quality!

I order from here at least once a week cuz I''m addicted to the chicken wings and the pork fried rice. So yummy! Food is consistently good, delivery is fast and the price is right. Don't believe me? Try the Happy Family (ask for it with the curry sauce). You won't regret it.

Good value, not super delicious. the moo shu is fine and is enough for a big man (me) to eat for 2 meals. Surprisingly they give you 5 nice rice pancakes, and don't charge extra for them. that's rare. Everybody else gives you flour tortillas nowadays, usually 2 or 3, and charge for more. and that's not right. So try a few things and see what you like. I stick with the moo shu.

Definitely had better Chinese take-outs. The hot and sour soup was just sour. The amount of MSG can put you to sleep..
