I have been ordering from this restaurant since it opened. The Peeking Noodles with chopped pork is fantastic and inexpensive. Delivery is quick and the food always fresh.

because it's cheap, fast, yummy, and has big portions. We've never gotten styrofoam containers, and they've only messed up our details once or twice over dozens of take-out orders. The veggies and sauces are always delicious. Be realistic, though; it's basically fast food, so it's not exactly health-concious or high-end.

where they could screw up my order so bad and it didn't matter because it was delicious. No pancakes w mu shoo, chicken w eggplant, sauce on side- no sauce to speak of, and no rice! At any other place this would be unforgivable but dang, everything was really fresh and flavorful and you just can't beat the value. This was my first experience but I will definitely try them again.

Ok. Title says it all... Cheap, not really. But, I'm willing to pay for quality. Delivery was slow. The dumplings, well... With the salt seasonings, or whatever the secret ingredient, I was pretty much eating them again and again, like all night. Mmmmm! The second course with the battered Chicken, oh it gave my tummy a lick'n too!

I ordered from New Kam Lai for the first time last night. Just had a craving for Chinese food and hadn't ordered from there before. We had the egg drop soup, sesame noodles, Gen. Tso chicken, steamed mixed veg and sweet and sour chicken. Firstly, we couldn't believe how much food we got for $24. But more than that, we were really amazed how good it was. It wasn't that greasy, it was full of flavor. Sauces were good (we had garlic sauce with the mixed veg). I became an instant fan of this place. Will definitely be ordering from there again. And for the money, it's worth giving it a try...even if it doesn't work out (which it will), you won't waste much money. But seriously - great food.

This is my first review on this site, but I just had to comment on the amzingly poor quality of last night's delivery food. It was obviously not freshly prepared. The broccoli and snow peas in my shrimp and beef dishes were cooked to mush! The beef was stringy and fatty. The "fried" wonton in hot oil were gummy and undercooked and the "hot oil" sauce was greasy and bland. The main dishes are glopped together with rice in leaky styrofoam containers instead of the plastic or waxed box containers used almost everywhere else. Yes, the portions are on the large side, but with such poor quality, who cares? Ironically, the only passable item was the onion rings, which I ordered just for fun. The delivery was reasonably fast and polite, but that plus a couple of free sodas does not make up for really poor food.

My go-to non-fancy chinese on the UWS. The value is great--cheap with huge portions. The combination dinners are $7 and enough food for 2 meals. I haven't tried many different items, but the General Tso's Chicken is consistently very good. It's pretty much a delivery/pickup place only, but the delivery is crazy fast.
