New Golden Szechuan

Last night my wife and I and some friends schlepped out to Flushing to eat at New Golden Szechuan, and it was well worth the trip. We try all the szechuan places in NYC and surrounding boroughs as that is our favorite type of cuisine. Also, since we go to China pretty frequently, we have no interest in americanized chinese food; the closer to genuine the better we like it. We found the closest to what you typically get in Chengdu here last night. We had pork kidney, spicy noodles, sliced fish, and some other kind of meat I can't remember now. All were prepared superbly, spiced exactly right. Meaning that we were all in a full sweat within five minutes of beginning our meal. But not only hot - the food was flavored exactly as it should be, with the organ meat and vegetable flavors shining through the spice. All in all, a wonderful meal, and a good price - with excellent service on top of it. As of 2013, I consider this to be the best szechuan food in NYC now. We will definitely be back!
