    highly overpriced and overrated

I went to Negril Village this past summer to celebrate a friend's birthday. We made reservations but still had to wait 45 minutes to be seated. Service was ok, we had track down the waiter for a good portion of the evening. The food was delicious, but what kind of West-Indian/Caribbean restaurant does not have black cake on the menu? The lounge has a lot to be desired, it's just a smaller version of the main dining area with a tiny dance floor. For a party of 13, our bill came to almost $900!! (food, drinks, and gratuity). My advice, save your money.

I want Jamaican with my food

As Born and Raised Jamaican woman, I anticipated great West Indian flavor seeing the the cost was out of this world. I was highly disappointed and not to mention when I quizzed my waiter about the food, he didn't know a damn thing. I am sorry but I refuse to visit a Caribbean establishment that doesn't have knowledgeable staff working there. Seeing that the donkey waiter didnt know what SORRELL was, I decided to go home and make it my bloody self. The only surprise was that the chef actually took the time to trim the Oxtails of fat. Any West Indian would know that this is critical.

    great

negril is my favorite restaurant i must say......as a child Negril was one of the most visited restaurants by my family as we went out every weekend for good quality time. I don't know where some of these negative comments come from because the service at Negril is great, I love the diversity of the waiters there and the kind demenor they carry...it is very impressive and is the reason why they are not only just "waiters" but are also our friends. these are people that WANT to actually work and enjoy what they're doing. i love negril so much and although i am no long a little child going out with my parents to Negril on our "family weekends" i continue to drag my father to Negril just to remember what it was like back in the day because it truly makes me feel happy inside. Negril is the best! p.s. the best jerk chicken is served here! period.

    Overprice & overrated

I went to eat here this past Friday and I call during the day to make reservation for 10 pm. I got there on time and the hostess told me I would have to wait another 30 mins to be seated or I can go downstairs to the lounge area to eat, so I decided to go downstairs. It was a nice environment but the music was very loud since it was a lounge, and my boyfriend and I couldn’t hear each other speak. When we receive our food it wasn’t even enough food to feed a small child. It was good but very overprice. I could have eat the same food at any Caribbean restaurant in Brooklyn and it would been more food, very inexpensive, and probably tasted better. Overall I wouldn’t go back, if I want good Caribbean food I’ll just eat in Brooklyn.

    Cute spot

Overall experience was nice. Besides the mediocre waitress that was assigned to my table, I had a great time. The drinks were great, the food was delicious (a little expensive though), the music was fabolous as well. I would definately go back in the future.

    it costs a fortune!

I loved the atmosphere, the waitresses are nice and they explained to everything that was on the menue but the price was so high compared to what you eat. I had to eat an hot dog when we left teh restaurant!however, let's give it a chance!

    Poor Customer Service

My experience at this location was horrible. Not only are thier prices unreasonable for the portions that give you. The service stinks! I usually order the salmon crab cakes that come served with a special sauce on the side. I called in an order and when i went to pick it up, the salmon cakes had the sauce thrown all over it and it did not have the corn that it usually comes with. I asked fior the order to be redone without the sauce thrown all over it. The manger told me that how it was made and if i wanted another order i had to wait 30 minutes, after waiting 30 minutes for the original order. If they would've made the order correctly the first time. I would have left satified. I'm paying $9 for 2 small crab cakes. The least that they could've done was redo my order. I walked out without anything and said i would never spend my money somewhere i cannot order what i want.
