Quality
I've eaten at Neely's many times since it opened and really like the food. The meat is higher quality than in most bbq's in NYC and the sides are amazing. The brisket and sauce are great. There is a real chef in charge and it shows.

Bypass Neelys BBQ
My party included 20 people on Friday night. The server took our order, delivered our order, delivered the check, and collected payment otherwise he was MIA. Food was mediocre at best. Small side dishes. Mac and Cheese was ok. Collards has more stalks than leaves. Ribs were overcooked and crunchy. Thank goodness for BBQ sauce at table. Fried catfish was excellent. Corn bread reminded me of the good ole days - very good. Small glass of iced tea and water. No server bothered to ask if we wanted a refill. I heard good things about this restaurant but no one in my party wanted to come back and give the restaurant a second chance. Too many thing were wrong and too many other restaurants to try. 40 thumbs down.

Disapointed!
I went to the Neely's last night for my daughter's birthday. The atmosphere was nice. I like how there are separate rooms for larger groups. The food was not that good. I asked each of my guest and only one person liked the food. The mac and cheese sucked. The collard greens, well I make better greens. The barbeque chicken wings were good. The fried steak was unappetizing. The servings were way too small for the price. Real cooks would be shaking their heads. A person who love food would never return. I felt as if this is just a money maker; a hustle for the Neely's. hope they step up their game. Wish them luck.

What's up wit the main dishes?
Side dishes are great..like the Mac n cheese, fried pickles, mash pototes, pinto beans, but chicken taste like wood:(. Meat loaf was meatless too much filler, neely seasoning was good on salad..cheese cake was good...seasoning that was on the table should have been used on the beer can chicken..cocktails were good..we travel from Michigan 11 hours to try this restaurant and not sure if we would suggest this place to the next person.

Memphis BBQ shame
I was at the Neely's restaurant yesterday with 14 friends when spent at least $500 last night. Their Memphis BBQ ribs (signature dish) was absolutely tasteless. The fish was extremely salty and the service was not the greatest. The portion were too small and therefore they're overpriced. They need to step up their game if they hope to remain open in NYC. Would not recommend any of my friends.

Pretentious, overpriced and sub par food
I was there with my daughters last Sunday. Although the place was empty they made us wait 20 minutes before they seated us and made it look like they were doing us a favor. We are all BBQ lovers and were deeply dissapointed. The food simply sucked. No taste! Small portions! Overpriced! Mediocre service! Stay Away!

Poorest Bbq on the UES!
Neelys really should be worried. The food was the poorest BBQ I have had in years. Everything I was served was cold and dry. The service was dull and rude, not even a smile and I was sitting at the bar. I used to be a frequent merchants customer, a nice steak then a cigar. Its definately the opposite of how it used to be. This place does not belong on the UES!
