My first taste of russia
This was my first taste of Russian food and with nightmare visions of hamburger helper beef stroganoff influencing me, I was nervous about about what I might taste. However, I was more than pleasantly surprised by Nasha rasha I was thrilled. 24 hours later, I am still thrilled. In fact, I'm in love and can't wait to go back. For appetizers, we had stuffed blini which are perfect crepes filled with flavorful beef and drizzled with sour cream. We also had the Vereniki, magic dumplings filled with magic potatoes and magic onions that made the world seem like a much nicer place. My wife had the Chicken Kiev, and it was delicious and buttery with a hint of dill. The "home style" potatoes and onions were crispy, salty, sweet, and tangy all at the same time. I had the Mushroom Stroganoff as an appetizers and the chef gave me a side of buckwheat. The mushrooms were amazing and the buckwheat surprised me because it was so fragrant and almost floral. It tasted almost like a slightly hoppy beer. I also sampled the beef stroganoff, which was at least one million times better than any American style stroganoff I've ever had. Dessert was decadent. We had Chocolate cake, which was a dense and moist chocolate layer cake with a rich ganache. The home made Napoleon, a flaky and nutty pastry, was also very good and a bit like a non-sticky baklava. The dessert crepes were highly addictive and each one had a different mix of fillings - apples, berries, raspberries, pears, peaches, nutella. Oh, and on the side of the crepes, a dollop of pretty pink homemade cherry ice cream. Our service was great. The waiter was attentive and funny. The level of food we had did not match the low cost. The chef paid attention to every detail and each dish felt like a present. The food has seemingly simple ingredients, but the flavors are complex, and layered, and all-around awesome. It was so much fun to eat here. I will definitely be back, probably before the month is out.

Deafening!
This is a new restaurant in our area. We had a lovely meal the first night we ate there. The second time the place was quite crowded and VERY noisy -- unpleasantly so. On top of the music and the talking, they had violinist playing with an amplified sound -- that part was dreadful. It seems like a decent place but the noise was unbearable. Food not disappointing, but I think they were overwhelmed the other night.

Good food
They are good good good! I am Russian, Im credible as I know what is Russian food and how it should taste. Their borscht is as good as my grandmas (well almost, no one can compete with my grandma). I recommend the beef stroganoff. The staff, bartenders, the customer service are better than all of the other Russian places, so thus 5 stars. Vodka selection is amazing.Try the borch vodka-its great!

A Tasty Russian Treat
The decor is Russian red, the waitresses bring to mind Sacher-Masoch (or maybe the Folies Bergere), but are very attentive and helpful. The food is excellent, and beyond copious. Don't order so much. We had Piroshki - about 15 pieces, each about the size of my fist, hot, stuffed and tasty, and made to order; Beef Stroganoff, (don't pass on the buckwheat accompaniment), as good as I've had in any restaurant, but, of course, not as good as mine (which I've been perfecting since I first had it in about 1947); my wife had the blini stuffed with meat (delish) , which was listed as an appetizer; Russian salad (traditional) which worked perfectly to cut the heavy food, and ended up with coffee and a Napoleon, which was essentially a nasty-good cheesecake. Yum. Everything seems to be made to order. I would have ordered the Chicken Kiev for entree, but it took 45 minutes, so I'll save that for another time. Cocktails were good - my wife's Stoli martini was fine (big, as was everything else); I had Zubrovka on the rocks, which I've not found anywhere else. Then we sampled a couple of the infused vodkas -- borscht (hard to believe), cherry, and I'd have tried several others as well, except for the fact that we had concert tickets, and prudence stayed my hand. Check with the bartender and take his advice. All in all, very satisfactory lndeed/

Great Russian Food
I have now eaten at Nasha Rasha three times. It is on the block where I live, and it is a welcome addition to the neighborhood. The service is really, really good. They explain the menu really well. The varenkies (pierogen) were great. We tried the potato ones and the Tsar ones. We had the chicken Kiev which was enjoyed by all. The meat cutlet was great, and the recommended zucchini pancakes were sublime. I can't wait to go back to try more foods. I highly recommend this restaurant. Selfishly I want it to succeed so that I have good food close at hand.
