Try it to believe it.
The best hummus ever, the chicken is delicious and the pita fresh and warm, the best match. I am a really good customer of nanoosh, because has the best quality and service. the food is healthy, organic and very tasty. the service very welcome, i become frends with some of the waitress overthere, really nice and friendly. i am reading some bad review in here that i am not liking because there are not true but can be exceptions. this is a place for everybody that want to enjoy a good quality and atmosphere. I tried other hummus places even the Hummus Place that everybody is saying but not like this organic hummus. The quinoa is the best grain salad, and healthy, but dont leaving apart the nanoosh green salad with fresh carrots. My preferredt hummus plate is the hummus pepper, very good. Try and u will see, if u want to eat healthy and not spend too much money.

Uneven food and service
I've been to Nanoosh twice now. The first time I had the lentil soup, quinoa salad and rice pudding; all of which were divine. My second visit yesterday entailed eating quinoa salad and an entree portion of plain hummus and wheat pitas. The hummus was so DISAPPOINTING! It was absolutely bland/tasteless and extremely dry. I could only eat a third of it even though the bread was nice and warm. Perhaps if I'd gotten one of the other hummus with mix-ins (e.g., onions) it would have been better but the waitress was unfriendly and unhelpful when she could have offered suggestions on a better selection of food items. That said, that is no excuse for the restaurant to turn out such poor hummus! It tasted like it came out of a school cafeteria tub. The iced mint tea was super sweet the first time I visited; yesterday it didn't taste as if it had any sweetner in it at all. If I were the owner I'd train my wait staff better; most are ok but one lady is openly bored with her job and the wait staff don't seem to work as a team. The restaurant decor is very pleasant and seems to do quite a bit of business. Whether you like sitting at the communal table is an individual thing. Will I go again? Only if I'm in the neighborhood and it's cool enough to warrant their lentil soup. Their salads (with greens) look good but are pricey for what you get. I've decided to make the quinoa salad at home since they provide the ingredients on the menu (it's very easy). So close to being great.....

Inauthentic hummus
The hummus tastes like a box mix of hummus. The mediterranean salad did not have much flavor like the fatuush or tabouli salads of other Mediterranean restaurants. The bread, however, is quite good and nice and warm. The service was also pretty lacking. With so many great restaurants in the UWS, find a better option!

Yummy hummus
We eat out a lot and frequent the competitors (Hummus Place and Hummus Kitchen) so was excited to try this place out recently. The hummus was made very well although it is not as smooth the Hummus Place restaurants. The hummus is still superior to most hummus you purchase around town, be it at a supermarket or cafe. The tahini on top of the hummus was delicious, very creamy and tasty. There are a number of toppings to choose from; I recommend the sauteed peppers, sauteed onions, and the mushroom option. The pita bread, pickles, hard boiled egg were very good. The egg is organic, which is usually not typical at a cafe. The chickpeas are organic as well. Since the Hummus Place is totally vegetarian, I would probably be going there instead of Nanoosh but the food at Nanoosh is well prepared, has value and the ambiance is excellent.

not worth it
Tasteless hummus, pitted olives, no pickles, wilted greens. They cannot even boil an egg properly! If you are lucky, they will be cleaning some of the floors with a strong smelling detergent while you are eating. That will give the food some sorely lacking flavor.

The prices have doubled and the portions halved, go elsewhere.
I USED to love going to Nanoosh! They had large portions for incredibly cheap prices, but in the past year the prices have increased and the portion sizes half been cut in half. Last time I went, I literally had to search for the chicken in my chicken wrap. The food tastes pretty good still, but I am so disappointed in the changes. I understand the economic market, some price increases are expected, but come on now... I also wanted to mention that I have trouble enjoying my food at times with the dirty looks I get from the staff and I was even asked "to wrap it up" because the waitress wanted to clock out. They have now lost a customer who used to go there at least once a week. Nanoosh is no longer worth it... pick another place.

love this place!
absolutely amazing delicous! casual (cafeteria style seating mostly, with some table enclaves that offer more privacy) and a great place to pop in. gets crowded during the dinner rush, esp on weekends
