    The very best...

With so many restaurants opening and closing even before you've gotten a chance to dine at them in the upper east side ...there are so many reasons why Pig Heaven has endured from when I was in high school going with my parents, college going with boyfriends, going with my husband, and now bringing my children. The food is wonderful. Nancy is amazing. I highly recommend Pig Heaven to anyone and everyone who enjoys authentic chinese cuisine.

    Terrible food!!!

To each his own...people have different taste and this place certainly does not agree to my tastebuds. Over rated....For those people who said the food was excellent, they were probably starving...obviously they have not yet tasted good , satisfying Chinese food. Overall dining experience was a disappointment and will never come here again!!! period...

    Classic

My family and I have been going here since Nancy took over management, maybe even longer (so that's 20+ years). It's consistently been great - the food's unbeatable, the service is fantastic, and Nancy's the nicest woman on the upper east side (except for my grandma, of course). Try the spare ribs - they're the best I've ever had. The scallion pancakes are great, as is the Peking Duck and the orange chicken. But, to be honest, you just can't go wrong with anything.

This Is Home - Eat Here Now

Quite frankly, this is one of the best Chinese restaurants in town & and I will tell you why. 1) A warm & welcoming staff trained by owner/manager -the ever lovely Nancy Lee. Everyone customer is welcomed like you a guest in Nancy?s home. 2) Top rated Chinese food. ?The food is excellent: From Peking Duck to one my favorites, Shrimp & snow peas, water-chestnuts saut?ed in a light ginger and garlic sauce. 3) A unique kitschy vibe on Fri & Sat nights?see and hear this unique phenomenon. Richard?s 3 piece band plays while regulars and traveling star musicians sit in with the band. Stars are mainly friends of Richard including: Pat Metheny, David Bowie, Lucy Kaplansky, KD Lang, David Crosby. Billy Joel, Roger Daltry, Robie K & the Matchbox 20/20 & BeeGees keyboard player,

    Best Chinese restaurant in NYC

It is a true injustice that this resturant is not recognized as the premier Chinese restaurant in NYC as it beats the food at higher priced and more prestigious Chinese resturants by a mile and that of the establishments in China town by the distance from here to Asia. The ribs are amazing - lean, deliciously caramelized. Every dish from the Grand Marnier shrimp to the Beef with Broccoli to the specialty offerings is perfection. To boot, Nancy the elegant owner and hostess will greet you as if you are family.

Pink Heaven! For the basics, the Best!

I'm a "spicy Szechuan kind of guy," and I definitely don't go to Pig Heaven for that. But when I want any other kind of Chinese fare--especially the basics--you can't do better. The food is high quality, the atmopshere is amazing and fun (especially for weekend Jazz/blues nights). The place is hilareous: decorated in pink, with little piggies and hip serving people. They always adjust when you order--say, no corn starch and no sugar, I always do--but also when you want it breaded and fried. Great takeout. They're just really hip Chinese restaurant people offering a kind of semi-retro experience. It's really hard not to like this place. They're just cool.
