They Take Your Money & Run

There wonton soup looks good, but tastes lousy!! The chicken corn soup is ok. Their prices are outrageous! However, their ribs are the only edible ones on the UES. Shrimp in black bean sauce is very good, and the 3 mushroom dish is very good. Now the price for this takeout is $60! That's about double any other place!

    Nothing to Ride Home About

We went to Pig Heaven the other night and I have to agree with the other reviewers...this place has gone down hill. We sampled three dishes, including the ribs and all were just ok. Nothing more than your average chinese food.quality and taste.

    downhill

My family went to Pig Heaven with my parents one evening - my parents were in the city and wanted good, fine Chinese Food. I suggested Pig Heaven - had eatten here and ordered from here many times in the past. What a MISTAKE! The dining room was shabby and dirty, the service was indifferent, and the food was barely edible. This place needs to clean up their act.

    Subpar suckling pig

I ordered the suckling pig and for the price, I expected a dish worthy of the name Pig Heaven. When the order came, the dish was so small and the pork skin was so rubbery that for 1/3 the price you could get a delicious dish at any BBQ restaurant in Chinatown. I tried Pig Heaven since it was featured in one of Anthony Bourdain's episode's. I left extremely disappointed.

so much $, so little food!

i ordered the large bbp suckling pig....it defined the word "meager". and they microwaved it. so the "crisp" skin was actually flacid. not yummy at all. delivery was kind of fast. the ribs were meaty, but also very pricey. i felt like i'd been had.

I have to first off second the guy below's review about the delivery man- Totally the nicest, most smiley-est delivery guy ever! Non-stop smiles and thank you's over and over, i love that guy! And the food is great. I'm mainland chinese and I give it a thumbs up, super great food, not too expensive, and suuuuuper nice people! what more can you ask for?? ESPECIALLY in THIS neighborhood haha.

    Not Really a Rib Paradise

I too saw NPH reviewed as a rib paradise. Made a special trip to try, and Hey! Fergetaboutit! Ribs were high quality & very tasty - chinese style, a little sweet, little to no char or crunch and no heat. But $8 for 6 ribs (or $12 for 8 ribs) ??? The value problem continued ...... tried a very tasty & tender salt & pepper squid from the "specials" menu - $9 for a very undersized portion...... fried dumplings were likewise very good, and a bargain at $6 for 6. So if you live in the nabe and have the bucks, go for it ....... Otherwise, there are better ribs in NYC and far better values in Chinese food.
