What happened?
Years ago, Nam used to be the old reliable. Over the past three or four, I've been several times, tried different dishes and it just isn't like it used to be. Dishes are bland and expensive. Service is lacking. Nothing is terrible, but it's just not great. With the proximity to Chinatown, where you can find a variety of delicious Vietnamese restaurants, there are many other options nearby that taste better and are better. The space at Nam is nice, but the crowds that used to make it feel like a "night out" have dissipated. I think I know why.

Not Vietnamese Food
I was super excited that Nam had authentic Vietnamese dishes on their menu. I didn't even mind the prices. But when I received my order, I was surprised with how little the portions were. The lack of flavor was even more of a disappointment.

Overpriced, not authentic, not good food
I will keep this simple - stay away from this overpriced place. Save your money and go to Chinatown - or hell, fly to Hanoi. Someone should do us a favor and open a real Vietnamese place in Tribeca

Best Vietnamese in the City
This place is so superior to Chinatown Vietnamese restaurants. The quality of the ingredients at Nam is no much better than new viet huong which i think is the best in chinatown. In the evening, the place really shines. As Nam is close to my office, I eat here frequently and am almost never disappointed. Service is very personable. The staff always greets us warnmly and remembers our drink orders.

Was Not So Good
This will be brief as our first post didn't show up. Overcooked tasteless food. Any Chinatown Vietnamese place is better, honestly we were totally disappointed in Nam. Not sure what was up that night but the food was not good.

Not to be missed!
There's no Vietnamese restaurant like Nam. It's definitely not to be missed. I must say that the desserts are awfully delicious. I am so glad I stopped by last nght!

Great neighborhood vietnamese
Ate here last night and thoroughly enjoyed it. Not too crowded or loud and friendly staff. The food was delicious and reasonably priced.
