    over run by tourists

this palce used to be really delicious for the pho. full of hearty beef broth and flavor/msg. but now its going downhill. prices are going up as well. the brother of the company is thai son. they might even be linked to some viet restaurants in brooklyn. the food is mediocre and the wait staff is not always friendly. sometimes they dont bother to help you if you are asian. non-asians of course get better treatment.

    Too much oil

I ordered Goi Cuon which were tasty but the Banh Xeo filling was done with too much oil. The sprouts were almost swimming in it. The amount of shrimps and pork was good but the oily sprouts killed it all. I would have preferred two smaller crepes with less filling than this normal sized crepe with oversized "interior". The crepe itself on the other hand was a too dry but that did not compensate the taste of the oil ... Service staff was nice and Vietnamese fluent

    could have been better

it was my first time in this restaurant. i was not impressed at all by their food. I can say that decor was very relaxing. the staff was somewhat friendly, but very available. i waited a long time for the food. when it arrived. it was tasteless. i had the pork and rice. the rice was hard and the pork was burnt. i also has the pho. the soup was very bland and the noodles were too soft. do not recomment this for food lovers.

    Great overall

The food was good and worth every penny. The atmosphere of the restaurant was friendly and pleasant too. The service was ok. Just call out "waiter" when one walks past you and you'll get service. The only bad I have to say about this place is that the ice cream is a total ripoff. One relatively small scoop is 3.50! NOT worth it for the ice cream.

    Highly recommend

We are Vietnamese and had dinner at this restaurant last weekend during our trip to NYC. The food was really authentic and the service was good. We would highly recommend this place.

    SO delicious

I wish everyone who thinks they've had real Vietnamese food would try this place. Many heads and shoulders above barely-palatable Nha Trang. The service and atmosphere are pretty average, but the food is stellar. I dream about it.

    Over looked an delicious

Looks like a twin of ThaiSon but it is better. Nam Son is one of my favorite Vietnamese places in Chinatown. Exellent shrimp w/ sugar cane. I used to eat there 3 times a week when I lived in the area. The Pho is okay, not as good as places on the west coast but much better than any other NYC Pho. I wish there was a great Pho place. A great place to take friends, and very nice service, promt, no nonsense affair. Tasty desert.
