Nagomi is run very much in the Japanese style, smaller pieces, refined service, quality product, and all for a good value. It is infinitely better than its local competitors, and not Americanized in the same way. The sushi is delicious, as well as the dishes, and the "sushi dinner" options are one of the better deals in town for a place this high-end. This is what a sushi restaurant is meant to be.

This resto got high recommendations and my husband and I were in the area so thought we'd give it a try. Although it was practically empty, it took maybe 10 minutes for the waitress to bring us our water, and another 10 to take our order. Finally, when our sushi arrived, the rolls were the tiniest rolls I have ever seen in my life. Not to mention, the spicy tuna rolls have the seaweed on the outside which is odd. My husband ordered a "special" $10 roll - the special rolls are usually cut in 8 pieces - but this one was 6 skimpy pieces. The rolls were pretty tasty, but after the poor service and small portions (for full prices) we did not really enjoy the food. After another 10 minutes of waiting for the check to come after dinner, and my husband having to go up to the counter to give the credit card, we left, still hungry, to get some pizza.

Maybe service is slow at lunch time (I've never been) but service is always excellent at dinner, not slow, not rushed, and always just friendly enough. And as everyone else said, the food is so good.

I've ordered from this place times and the food has been consistently good every time. The black cod almost tastes like the one you get from Nobu, the fish is always fresh and the delivery fast. I hightly recommend this place for lunch!

I was strolling the neighborhood looking for a new eatery for lunch. They had an extensive lunch menu. One of their specials - 3 rolls Tuna, Salmon, Eel all with avacado with miso soup for $13. The rolls were large, fresh and tasty. You can't beat that. As I waited for my takeout order, the waitress asked me to sit at the bar and offered me a cup of green tea. I would definitely go back.

I thought slow service is 15-20 minutes of waiting but i was in for 35-40 minutes yesterday at lunch time. I should have taken everyone's warnings here more seriously. They had 1 waitress working who did everything slowly. The chefs were on time however; I saw lots of food waiting at the counter. This place was 2 blocks from my office and still I was late coming back. If it wasn't for the company I'd almost say I didn't have a good time.

Nagomi is just what Soho needs... wonderful sushi without a two hour wait and reasonable prices. My boyfriend and I have been coming here since it opened up and it has never disappointed us. The fish is so fresh and the rolls are delicious and innovative. They also have great appetizers like a seared tuna pizza and an amazing tofu salad. It is a neighborhood spot that has yet to be discovered to the public.... but I'll let the secret out and encourage those who wait an hour or more at blue ribbon around the corner to come and try it!
