Food is no good, atmosphere is great

Some friends and I went here the other night and were really disappointed with the quality and quantity of food. The food wasn't bad - it just wasn't nearly worth the price. 2 of us had the $25 Prix Fixe - the portions were really small, the entrees had no sides. The other 2 had Tapas - nothing special, really small portions even for tapas. We ended up spending $60 per person and went out for pizza after. The atmosphere is the only thing going for this place - great indoor and outdoor seating - but for these prices the food doesn't blow you away or fill you up. Skip the food altogether and just come for drinks.

    Everything but the bread=disappointing

okay, bread=yummy. everything else=unappetizing. Now, I'm no food critic, but everything here had the consistency of what I imagine space food will have in the distant future when the nerve endings in our mouths have evolved away for good. Had the baba ganoush (barely acceptable), pork belly/calamari (consistency of rotten pork chop), and ox tail (consistency of rotten ox tail). Everything was gelatinous and borderline revolting. Both me and my girlfriend wanted to gag on the way home just thinking about what we just choked down for the sake of not wasting $60. Did I mention the 'mashed' potatoes have the consistency of cool whip? well they do.

    Huge Garden But...

The restaurants atmosphere was awesome, great spacious tables, the food was ok, I had the chicken fricasee, and my boyfriend had Lamb chops. Our romantic dinner was going great till 3 people asked us if we need anything during our meal, I understand the quality service but it's a little annoying when a man with a big beard comes over touching your shoulder and so dressed in an unpleasant way. What happen to all the ties? Nice shirts? or maybe it's just Brooklyn style.

    Quality Loss?

I've been to My Moon over a dozen times. Love the atmosphere (outside) and it once touted delicious entrees that were slightly overpriced but worth it. Sadly the last handful of times I have stopped by with friends I find the chicken or fish to dry; the lamb boring or something just missing. I also feel the overall plating of the dishes have changed and it just doesn't have the juicy, savory and food pairing quality it once carried. I just have to question the quality change with the prices per entree. Once recommended but now just questionable. :(

    Best Atmosphere

The place is absolutely to die for. We first went on a summer night where we could sit outside amidst the billowing fabric. The amt of space, the decoration and the atmosphere it provides is just really indescribable.......The food is good but its definitely the atmosphere which would keep bringing me back. The artichoke appetizer was delish as well as the cappuchinos.

    Disappointed

We went to My Moon Saturday night. I will say that the appetizers were delicious (lobster ravioli, "greek salad"). The crab cakes were dry and looked like tiny sponges. The service was very slow at best even given the fact that it was not very crowded. I will say My Moon has a beautiful space - one of the nicest I have seen in a long time.

    Very Small Portions

We went to My Moon to celebrate our engagement. We were 8 people. The place and the service were good. The food was also good but the portions were extremely small. This is NY and when we spend about $500 we expect to eat more. After dinner we were still hungry. If they can be a little more generous, this is THE place. I also would like to see more variety on the menu.
