BLAND and disappointing
What a bummer! I was so, so excited to have a neighborhood Mexican spot, and though the decor was great, the prices were right (nothing over $20) and the service friendly... the food couldn't have been more bland. Such a let down. The guacamole was basically mushed avocado (no cumin, no cayenne, no citrus, no onion). The beans were equally mushed and un-spiced. The chicken fajitas were the usual mix of poultry and veg--perfectly grilled and perfectly bland, too. I'm hoping this is due to the fact that the place just opened and is still figuring itself out-- still, I probably won't be back.

Good Food but small portions
I came here on a Friday night and it was pretty busy since it was a new restaurant. We were told 15-20 min wait but it wound up being about a 10 min wait. We got drinks at the bar and then were seated and the chips/salsa were very good. My friend and I shared chicken quesadillas which were really good. We also split beef fajitas which was barely enough for one person as an entree, never mind 2 people. We each made one very small fajita. It also came with peppers/onions, but no lettuce, tomato or cheese. so, is that really a fajita? Would go back in a few weeks when they work out the kinks

Poor Service, OK food
Before you open a restaraunt you should really learn how to run a restaraunt. We put our name down and was told it would be a 30 minute. During this wait I went to the bar to attempt to get a cocktail. The two bartenders ignored me for about 15 minutes until I finally lost patience and interupted one of them. Finally after about 45-50 minutes, we were seated. I ordered the Quesedilla which was not very appetizing and my girlfriend ordered a chicken dish that was mediocre. She also ordered a mixed drink that was not received until we raised it to another member of the wait staff. The portions are small and the food is not very good. The only positive thing I can really write about this place is their chips and salsa are delicious.

The Night Of My Life
I went with my dad. He got Chicken Floutas and I got Chesse Quallidias! They were amazing! Our waiter was great. The Chips and Salsa were so good I would call the night The Night Of My Life!

New standard for Mexican in the UES
food was very authentic to mexican cuisine. They serve spiced jicama which brought my girlfriend back to her childhood in mexico. There was a slight mixup with the order but the service corrected it quickly and happily. Homemade tortilla chips were yummy as were the braisded short ribs. Large portions for the price. Definitely a must for the mexican food fan!
