    Not recommended

As an old Vinyl fan I had to try this place so there I was last night with two friends. OMG, everybody is right, the portions are laughable. The guacamole appetizer is served in a shot glass!!! and they charge you $8 for it. Tacos are smaller than the ones you get in a Mexico city street car! I guess they got that one right: they are true to the originals, but please call them taquitos.

Not worth the time or money

My husband and I dined at this new addition to the neighborhood tonight, and were sorely disappointed. The portions were miniature for the price. For $19, we received shrimp fajitas with five tiny shrimp, 1/4 of a bell pepper, and 1/4 of an onion. The guacamole was brought out within 3 minutes of us placing our order. It was tiny for the $8 price, and it consisted of nothing but mashed avocado and lemon juice to conceal the fact that it was merely scooped from a giant tub in the back. On the (only) positive side, our waitress was great and very attentive...almost apologetically so. This place will not last longer long. The prices are outrageous for the quality and quantity of food. Please save your money and go elsewhere. Anywhere else. This was a huge disappointment.

    Missing just a few things...

We agree with one of the postings: portions are definitely small (you’ll remember this when you get your guacamole appetizer). Also, if you order the steak burritos, don't expect a lot of meat in them. Prices are not that bad but definitely on the higher side given the portions. On the positive side, service was great. Vinyl: We are already missing you on the UES.

    Small portions

Our waitress warned us the tacos were small, but the two tiny tacos on our plates were gone in four bites. Even the fajitas my friend got were pretty small. The food was lukewarm at best, and while somewhat tasty, there just wasn't enough of it. I fear this place will be gone in 6 months, if they don't step up the size of their portions.

    tiny portions, disappointing service

The guacomole was awful and was brought to us after our "main course." The entree was so small that I thought that the waiter confused our order and brought us an appetizer. I've never seen such small tacos which were also really bland. The meat was chewy and did not have the 'pomegranate' glaze taste at all. The waitress was rude and slow. The chips that were served were so salty and bland that it seemed as though they came from a bag of Tostitos. The meal was truly disappointing and so unfilling that I got pizza afterwards. I am never going back.

    Go For Drinks...At Best

When we arrived, there was a wait. We happily went to the bar area. A few minutes later they gave us a table in the bar, when we noticed 3 other empty ones in the dining area. We asked to switch. The host said they were expecting a big party. Then, a few minutes later he said we could go and sit there. Clearly, the party story was just a story. No one escorted us so we sat at a booth (we were only 2) which created controversy the rest of the night when other parties of 2 pleaded to sit in booths too "that were only for 4" even though it was already 9pm and the place was emptying out. The guacamole had no flavor and was small. There was also dark parts to it, which showed it wasn't as fresh as it could have been. The drinks were great. We each had margaritas. The signature ones were huge! I ordered salad and tacos because the tacos were appetizer size, which I found out from the waitress. There was no mention of this in the menu. My boyfriend ordered flautas, yet got a burrito. He is not savy with Mexican food. I asked him how is meal was and he said it tasted like cardboard. I then realized, he did not get what he ordered. The staff made a huge fuss on the fact he already ate some of the meal. I mean, were they planning on taking it off his plate and giving it to another table? After much discussion over a $14 entree, they agreed to take it off the bill OR give him what he ordered. We just wanted it taken off at that point, because if the burrito was cardboard, we couldn't imagine what a flauta would taste like. Too many other new and better places in the neighborhood. Go for a drink, skip the food.

    Great Mexican In our Hood

My husband and I went on a saturday for an early dinner. The place has great ambiance and great music, not loud at all either. The chips and salsa were great, we ordered the chicken nachos, huge portion size and it was excellent. Next we got our main entrees of beer battered fish tacos and grilled fish tacos. Need to mention that the portion size of the tacos were very small, similar to Mercadito. But the grilled mahi mahi taco was excellent, wasnt as happy with the fried fish one, they need to put bigger pieces of fried fish in the taco, but overall we were pleased and will definitely go back. As we were leaving around 5:30, the place was already packed. Great addition to our neighborhood.
