Great late night dinner
Stopped by after a show on a Saturday night. had great Margaritas, prawn quesadillas, flautas and dessert as recommended by the server. thought the portion sizes were just right and enjoyed the cheerful waitress and welcoming ambiance.

good new mex on UES
Came with a friend and left full and satisfied. Chips and salsa were great and chicken fajitas were very tasty. Portions were not oversize - they were just right. My friend got the chicken burrito and loved it. Also got free mojitos from a promotion at the bar. Would definitely go back and recommend to all.

Extremely Small Portions and Suspect Service
Understanding prior reviews about small portions, I asked for three tacos instead of 2 (which is what is included on the menu). The waitress looked at me like it was a ridiculous request and said it couldn't be done. The $4 side of black beans is basically a shot glass of beans. The food was good, but I'm not sure I will go back due to ridiculously small portions.

Food Good - Portions Not Good
I agree with pretty much everybody here - food good, but portions are tiny. The chicken burrito was very tasty - but incredibly small. As for the guacamole appetizer - it came in a small dish, not a shot - a shot of salsa with my burrito. - was very simple, basic...like the way I like it. Overall, this has the makings of a decent spot - but you either lower your incredibly high prices, $16 for a burrito or give out better portions. An UES resident.

Top Mex spot
What a fun new place in the hood at a clean, friendly and cool space. Sit at the bar and have a quesadilla and huge margarita. Perfect spot to meet up with a group of friends or just hang at the bar and watch the game - nice TVs. Service was good; but the food was even better. Great menu, tried many items and most were extremely tasty. Highly recommend to all...check it out.

Best New Mxcan in Area
There are numerous Mexican restaurants that offer gargantuan, ubiquitous, dishes of cheese ridden, micro waved, soggy goo and watered down, over priced frozen margaritas, and try to pass it off as traditional Mexican fare in New York. I am delighted to say that in my opinion, the newly opened Mxco IS NOT one of those ubiquitous Mexican grind houses. The setting was wonderfully relaxing and the hand painted mural lent a homey feel to the place. My wife and I kept talking about how wonderful a place it will be come summer when the windows open on to the street. The staff was friendly and honest, which I appreciated when they said there would be a 15 minute wait, and it turned out to be just that, 15 minutes. But it was the food that made the biggest impression. The dishes are original, delicious, and I disagree with those who say the portions are too small. Again, if your tastes run to monster, nuked burritos and frozen margaritas served by the quart, then by all means, go elsewhere. Mxco isn't your place. If you want authentic, delicious Mexican with killer margaritas ( one did the trick for each of us) in a beautiful setting, then Mxco should be high on your upper east side list. My wife and I loved the entire experience.

Not recommended
As an old Vinyl fan I had to try this place so there I was last night with two friends. OMG, everybody is right, the portions are laughable. The guacamole appetizer is served in a shot glass!!! and they charge you $8 for it. Tacos are smaller than the ones you get in a Mexico city street car! I guess they got that one right: they are true to the originals, but please call them taquitos.
