Meatballs
Ordered a meatball sandwich for delivery with garlic bread and baked ziti marinara. Slooooow delivery, but food was blistering hot when it finally got here. Small ziti plate enough for two big meals, not enough sauce and too much cheese, garlic bread okay. But the meatball sandwich was not good. Not meatballs, but more like chunks of some kind of dense sausage or mystery meat. A HUGE Italian hero roll, very little sauce and the sauce was tasteless anyway. I'd order pasta from here again, if I had 45 minutes to wait, but never meatballs.

A dismal slice and soggy personal
Let it be known that this is my first ever online review. I have eaten at many NYC establishments which left me unimpressed though I was not compelled to express my disapproval until now. The slice was so wet and soggy! I took a bite and told the guy behind the counter that it was inedible and that I would like a fresh one. He tried to tell me that because I had taken a bite that I would have to pay for the new one. needless to say I walked out after an exchange of unpleasantries. I wonder if they never got the memo about customer satisfaction and the holy rule of giving what the buyer wants. After all....they are charging $2.25 for a wet and soggy slice.

Sauce, cheese, crust in perfect harmony
I am laughing at the review trying to compare Muzzarella's to Grimaldi's. While they have their place, Grimaldi's, John's, Luozzo's and the like do not fit the bill when you are looking for good NY street pizza. Neither for that matter does Ray's Originial, and its progeny. The former is gourmet , brick-oven, thin-crust-style, and the latter is just a block of sub-par cheese and dough (I blame greed and laziness for the falling standards). I actually prefer NJ pizza because in my experience it harkens back to old-school NY/Brooklyn pizza in its supreme foldablility and just-so balance among sauce, dough and cheese. Muzzarella's makes its pizza this way and is delicious. I must admit that once in a blue moon I get a pie where the balance is off or it's undercooked, but given how hard it is these days to find decent pizza (and it doesn't seem like rocket science!), I'll give them the occasional pass.

re: Typical pizzeria
Not great, not bad - your average pizzeria Certainly not in the class of Lombardi's or Grimaldi's. But, still an edible local pizzeria. Atmosphere is a zero (like most pizzerias), but no complaints with the pies.

Perfect for a budget
As a college student, a lot of bang for my buck is always the most important. You get tons of great (albeit greasy) food for very little money by nyc standards. Calzones are a personal favorite.

Excellent food/ value
Inexpensive and tasty. the owner is from naples. Need i say more? The Chicken Slice is a meal in itself. also the Calzones are Fried which sounds odd but try one! They're awesome! Want a hearty meal for five bucks? then Muzz is the place to go.

Very Very Yummy
A crisp crust that crackles when you fold it in half and quality ingredients. I will always walk the few blocks over if i happen to be in Union Square to grab one of my favorite slices in the city.
