Not bad before a Garden event

Went there last week before a show at the Garden. Lively atmosphere but the food's only okay. A little expensive for pub food and the beers are ridiculously overpriced. They charged $7 for a "pint" (about 12-13 oz.) of Murphy's Stout and $6 for a Bud Light. I'd go back in a pinch but I wouldn't go out of my way to eat there.

    Typical bar/pub food

Nothing Special - I've worked across the street for years, and probably come here for drinks/appetizers once a week or so. I've eaten here countless times as well. It's pretty much the same food you can find in any pub across America.

A Welcoming Oasis in New York City

On a recent trip to New York,, we visited Mustang Sallys and really enjoyed our visit there. We found a bar with a good atmosphere - lots of people there and quite a few were having food. We did not have any food so I cannot comment on the food. The drinks were served properly by experienced staff who were very friendly and courteous. A very enjoyable experience and we will certainly return again on our next visit to the Big Apple.

    Been There Many Times

This is not a review of a single experience but of a decade of patronage. I've had the pleasure of getting to Mustang Sally's in NY several times a year , taking a train up from Philadelphia to meet old fiends or entertain future clients. Whether for lunch, dinner or a just a drink at the bar, you will enjoy the experience. The staff is friendly and accommodating and the food is very good. There is always a varied selection of excellent entrees from which to choose. I have enjoyed many items on the menu but I admit I often fall back on a bar staple because I believe their hamburger "the Mustang" to be one of the best I have ever had. Get it with bacon and cheddar if you want a treat. The atmosphere changes throughout the day between the hustle of lunch, the after-work drink or the pre-event dinner but it's always pleasant. Don't let a single review of a single experience be your guide. I can tell you from much experence that the chance of having a good time, enjoying good food among good people is high at Mustang Sally's.

A Good solid place for drinks or food

This is a great after work place though if there is an event at the Garden expect to fight your way to the bar or wait for a table. They have a good selection of fresh beer and drinks. The food is typical stick-to-your-ribs food like the shepherds pie but the daily specials offer a more traditional food experience. There is no such thing as a bad dish. It is a good atmosphere for a date as long as there is not a big crowd present as it can get loud. You will have no problem seeing many of the televisions if you are seated. The Irish accents of the staff are a nice addition and you will find that they are all pleasant. You may have to catch a waitresses attention if you need a refill on a drink as they tend to give you your privacy. While it is not cheap it will not break your wallet either. Dinner for two with drinks will run you about $80 and you will walk away full and satisfied as to your meal (your company may be another story).

    Don't bother!

Came here with a friend when we were in the area and decided to stop spontaneously for a beer. The prices were reasonable but there was nothing interesting on tap and the food poor- we barely ate half of what we ordered (ususally, we CHOW!). We shared bland chicken satay and tasteless and rubbery popcorn shrimp. IAbsolutely no flavor, even after salting everything. There are too many great neighborhood bars in this city to ever bother returning to this one...
