    Bad tequila

I went here for some casual tex-mex. Being a tequila drinker I ordered a specific tequila (Cabo Wabo). I am not sure what they served me but at best it was Montezuma. I would never go here for drinks again. And the food was just awful as well. The service was inattentive and borderline rude. Overall never again

    What a great experience...

My husband and I spent Memorial weekend in NYC from Minnesota. We walked by the restaurant and could see that it was packed. We perused the menu and while doing so the hostess told us that a table would be available shortly as a couple was just settling the bill. We were seated immediately after they left. The loaded nachos were delicious, the peach margarita was very fresh tasting with bits of juicy peaches in it. The service was great and the food was too. I can't believe the one couple was actually kicked out by the manager, that was really rude and unforgiveable, but maybe things have changed for the better since then???

    You've gotta be kidding me...

My wife and I went to Mustang Grill to watch the Final Four, arriving between the first and second games of the evening. Given the event, we weren't surprised to find the place packed. We were seated at a 2-top near the bar. We ordered drinks and before they even arrived, a manager came over and instructed us that we'd have to move. They had a party of 4 that they wanted to seat by combining our 2-top with the 2-top next to ours. We asked if we were being moved to another table. "No. there aren't any other tables available at the moment." was the response we received. Now, I understand that a 4-top brings in more money than a 2-top (duh), but once you've seated a party, you don't just evict them because you've got a larger party to seat. Needless to say, we were stunned. A moment later, as we collected our jackets, the waitress showed up with our drinks. "Moving to the bar?" she asked. "Nope." was our response as we walked out the door.

    Too loud!!!

Get a table in the back away from the bar area, this place is just too loud and impossible for a conversation. One drawback when you go to the back, waiters don't regularly go and you WILL WAIT. Food is so-so (special mention : empanadas are great with that yummy smoked jalapeno sauce) and drinks are dull. Sangria needs more alcohol and less sugar.

    Bad drink service

So I went to Mustang last night with several friends. We were there for drinks, but took a table because the bar was full. I think each of us got a margarita and some sodas, and nachos. Our waitress was...aloof...at best. She couldn't remember any orders, and even though some of us ordered large margaritas and some ordered regulars, she brought us all larges and charged us for them anyway. She showed up once every 45 minutes or so, and it took us about an hour to pay for the meal (even after we enlisted the service of another waiter). The nachos were good and the margaritas were average, but when we asked her about the over charge on the drinks that were bigger than we asked for, she told us that if you don't SPECIFICALLY say small when you order the drink, they automatically bring the more expensive one. Just an FYI... apparently there's no distinction between a "large" and a "regular" and they don't care to tell you. In conclusion, the service was awful, the food was average, and the drinks weren't much better.

    LOVE IT. except....

TRY the chicken tortilla soup and the frozen margaritas. Dont order takeout. It gets a little too loud later on and the staff acts like they are working at a night club. (?) No buybacks even after hours (?) I'm a regular more or less. Ive spoted a few yankees here and i'm a big fan. I guess its supposed to be trendy-ish? terrible salsa though. OVERALL I REALLY RECOMMEND IT with only a few slight hesitations.
