nothing good tos ay
i really have nothing good to say about this place. i realize they are kosher and that tends to be more $, but their prices are super high and you are clearly not paying for quality. their israeli salad looks like it has been sitting there a while. but the worst part the service attitude was a bigger turnoff then the food. i will never ever spend a dollar there again. good luck murray!

Best falafel I've had in America!!!
I live in the East Village, and all of the better falafel places in the neighborhood have closed in recent years ... with the exception of Mamoun's, which has sadly gone disappointingly downhill the past couple of years. I rarely venture above 14 St., but decided to give Murray's a try, based on the reviews here. I ordered the falafel sandwich with baba ganoush, tahini, lettuce, tomato, and hot sauce. They usually use a pre-made topping of lettuce, tomato, cucumber, and onion, but kindly obliged the special order. This was the best falafel that I've had in NYC, and I've had a lot!!! The only time I've had better was at the world-famous L'As du Falafel in Paris (you'll see what I mean, if you "google image" that. In fact, they use similar bread here. It's not a thin dry pita, but rather a large, soft fluffy bread pocket. The falafel was obviously freshly-assembed and made, as was the unique hot sauce that came on this side. It was flawless. They only thing I would change would be the price, which is currently $7. At any rate, I enjoyed this sandwich only yesterday, and am already craving to have it again. Next time, however, I will ask for about three hot sauces, as it was so delicious, but a small serving. The sandwich itself is very filling, and easily accounts for a fully satisfying meal. I didn't realize until after I had ordered at the counter, received my order, and subsequently sat down, that the tables are for table service. Now worries. They quickly brought a small ice water. This place is a gem!

go now!
Probably the best falafel in NYC, better than some I've had in the middle east! Seriosuly, the food is fantastic here, especially the humus and falafel. Other dishes are also quite deliciou, but I almost always get the falafel... Atmosphere is nothing fancy, but quite clean. Service is the same girl everytime. If she's busy you'll wait only because she's the only waitress. Prices are not the best, but the quality is far beyond any $3/$4 falafel. If you haven't gone yet, this is a NYC MUST in my book :)

Great food, Good value for Shabbat dinner
We have tried many different kosher restaurant and caterers for our large Friday night dinners. Murray's has great food and worked with us to create a well priced package (it helped that we promised to be repeat customers). Our guests comment that they especially like the hummus, falafel, pita and Middle Eastern salads. The grilled vegetables and chicken are also very good.

delicious but..
the falafel sandwich was easily the best i've ever had. truly amazing. I'm moving out of the neighborhood and only just discovered Murray's, which kind of kills me. My only complaint is that I ordered baba ghanouj and it didn't come with any pita. So now I have this tub of baba ghanouj and nothing to eat it on. So make sure you specify that you want pita for dipping. I would have thought that was pretty much a given.

Excellent!
I've been coming for several years. Best Falafel I think I've evre had. Salads are excellent, and Entrees are terrific as well. Prices are quite reasonable. Service is really good, the only problem is the place is small. Highly recommend.

Very satisfied
I was searching for a casual, reasonably inexpensive place to bring a few acquaintances to and munch on some falafel and shwarma. I based my decision to eat to Murray's on the fine reviews here, and I'm glad I did! The food (I had the shwarma entree and some falafel on the side) was good, and the staff were attentive and friendly. The only downer (and a minor quibble) is that the place is small. We were lucky to grab the last table. It was busy, and that's a good sign.
