    bagels

great bagels but the service is awful! they don't listen and are too busy chatting to take the orders down correctly. also, they charge 50 cents for tomato and give you one tiny little sliver - i always have to ask for extra and suffer the stink eye from some guy. cream cheese by the 1/2 pound is also ridiculously overpriced. if it weren't for the bagels i wouldnt go.

    Agree with past reviewers

Went this morning to buy a dozen and a half bagels for my office. Specifically told the guy no pumpernickel or wheat. Get to the office and what's in the bag - mostly pumpernickel and wheat. To boot, bagels were hard. Seriously, is it that difficult to listen to instructions (I was the only customer in there and there were 6 guys behind the counter)??!! Didn't think I needed to check the bags! Will never go there again, not worth the headache for the prices and hard bagels.

Whackest bagel place in all of NYC

Q: What kind of bagel place doe NOT toast bagels? A: A whack bagel place called Murray's? What is the deal here anyway? I asked that my everything bagel be toasted and was met with bemusement by the sucka behind the counter. OK, fine, you don't toast, then give me my bagel, then. As a result of the bagel NOT being toasted the tofu scallion cream cheese that I ordered was cold. Whack.

    No Toasting Murray's

Although I gave above average marks for each criteria I have one major problem- they don't toast their huge bagels. Say what? It took me hours to eat my enormous everything bagel. I was chewing more than Nancy Reagan at a State Dinner. If the bagel was right out of the oven that would be one thing but the bagel I got had spent some time in the basket.

    Horrible service

Both Murray's locations have the worst delivery service I've ever encountered. Every time my company tries to order our weekly breakfast from this place, they either misplace the order (and I don't find out until the morning of) or deliver at least 30 minutes late. When I call to complain, they assure me that it'll never happen again, but have never kept their promise. I'm never ordering from this place again, no matter how good their bagels are. It's a wonder that they're still in business. They seem to think that as long as they roll out above-average bagels, everything else about their service can fall to the wayside.

    not great

the cranberry muffin was better than the bagel! i'm not from new york, and i honestly have yet to find a good bagel here! the service, however, though busy, was nice, and smiled at me, etc. its more than you get from some restaurants. but again, just mediocre. not even sure it would have been good fresh. also, the olive cream cheese was gross couldn't really taste the olives. i swear, if anyone's ever in maine, mr. bagel makes better bagels than anywhere i've been in ny!
