I walked about 10 blocks because of all the raves about Murray's. I live on Long Island and I have had bagels just as good on Long island. If you are there go for it, but not worth the walk for me. I had whole wheat with sundried tomato.

Finally, a bagel that is perfect. The eveything bagel that I ordered was delicious. I didn't even notice that it wasn't toasted. Who needs to toast something that tastes that good? The nova was plentiful and the vegetable cream cheese makes all the others pale in comparison. Don't miss this place......

Regardless of whatever opinon you have concerning toasted or not toasted, the fact of the matter is, Murrays loses business to those who do like their bagels toasted. Wise up Murrays, buy a toaster and truly reign supreme as the best there is.

It thoroughly bothers me that Murray's does not toast their bagels. If they did I would eat there once a day. But, because they don't I never eat there. Someone convince them to change.

Great place for takeout lunch sandwiches. A little pricy for what you get but it is high quality. Also, why is everyone so upset about toasting or not toasting? Anyone who claims that there is a right and a wrong way to eat a bagel should try to get out more and know that different people have different tastes.

I've tried the so-called best bagels from H&H--they can't hold a candle to Murray's. An old job I had turned me onto a Murray's everything, stuffed with tofu scallion cream cheese. My co-workers and I ordered nearly every day because it was just so delicious. Sometimes I'd go for a sesame with Kalamata olive cream cheese, sometimes the tofu egg salad. Whatever you get there is crispy, crunchy and tasty. The coffee's awesome, too. Now that I live in Jersey, I still drive through the tunnel on a Saturday for these. And by the way, a good bagel should NEVER be toasted, so this isn't an issue.

A good bagel (such as any Murray's bagel) doesn't need to be toasted! You all are used to the substandard 50 cent bagel that tastes like garbage so of course you have to toast those! I love Murray's--very heavy cream cheese is standard here.
