Good bagels, but so-so service
I like their bagels, and the selection is awesome, but they don't toast and they are rushed (even when they're slow). Never tried their delivery. They have a small eat-in cafe area. Their coffee is ok. Whole wheat everything bagel with one of their cream cheeses is great - if they would toast it it would be awesome... oh well...

Rude Staff
While the staff has always been indifferent to the customers...I tolerated it because the bagels were good. Lately the quality seems to be slipping so there's no more reason to put up with the misfits that work there. Too bad.

bagels delicious, delivery ridiculous
I love the bagels at Murrays but have to agree with other reviewers, the delivery service is unacceptably slow. I waited three hours last weekend for a dozen bagels. I won't be ordering delivery from them again.

Dude Where's My Bagel?
I love the bagels at Murrays. However the delivery service is terrible. I did not read others reviews in advance (I should have done that because I would have been warned). I has been 2.5 hours since I placed the order, and 1.5 hours since I called and was assured the order was leaving the restaurant. I will never order delivery from them again.

I've had better for less
Reminds me of a college bagel shop I used to go to about 4 years ago - back then, it was OK because I was broke and in a rush. Nowadays, however, I expect more from a place nestled in Chelsea, that has the nerve to charge $3.50 for a bagel with cream cheese. When I asked for it toasted, the guy scoffed and told me that "due to the lines on the weekends, [they] never toast to save time." However, since I was the only customer during the middle of the day (on a Tuesday), I failed to see what their alleged weekend business that had to do with me. Also, seeing how I could have gotten a two hot bagels from around the corner for the same price (and probably from a less snarky server), I'm gonna say stay away from this place because there's absolutely nothing special about it. Save your money and go somewhere else.

This is NY
and Murray's is the quintessential NY bagelry. Caveat - we've never visited the shop. But we call for bagel delivery every weekend. When I call to order, it is clear from the background noise that the shop is very busy and the staff are working furiously. 99.9% of the time, the person who takes my order is efficient, polite, and gets it right. 99.9% of the time, I am forewarned that delivery may take 45 min to an hour, and 99.9% of the time our bagels show up very much sooner than that. And 100% of the time, Murray's bagels are wonderfully NY delicious. I can't imagine a weekend without them.

impolite
I recently went in with two friends for breakfast. We ordered our food without incident, but when we got up to the counter, the cashier was EXTREMELY RUDE and back-talked to me when I asked her to add a drink to my order. To make matters worse, they messed up my order and gave me the runaround when I asked to speak to the manager. In a time when people are bending over backwards to try and keep their customers, it seems like Murray's is employing people that are ungrateful for their jobs and the people that keep them in business. I eventually spoke to someone who claimed to be the manager and she apologized. Nonetheless, the experience left a really bad taste in my mouth and I will be taking my business elsewhere. I suggest others do the same.
