Wow, I haven't had food like that in a long, long time. I'm not a big fan of vegetarian dishes but at my friend’s request, I decided to try Shag Ponir. It was spectularly tasteful. I used the rice to whip of every ounce of the sauce that was left. I loved the dish. I also has the mango yogurt which I liked very much. I'm making this place my new favorite place. I also like the fact that the prices are very reasonable.

I died a small death when I thought Mumtaz (on 3rd Ave) had closed for good, but lo and behold, they're back and as great as ever. I could live on their chicken tikka masala and aloo muter, and I practically do. Food is consistently flavorful and fresh, and the phone/delivery service is always polite and courteous. Great value, too.

Delicious! I love the spacious new Mumtaz; I'm really glad they are back. The deco is very nice and I can't get enough of their chicken tandoori with the special condiments. Great job!

Visiting Mumtaz is always a wonderful experience. The food is as enjoyable as ever. I am extremely happy that they are back. I missed them much. Their new place looks very pretty. I have never eaten indian food anywhere else like theirs.

We missed them so much! Did't have any other Indian food until Mumtaz re-opened!

My entire family has been eating here at Mumtaz for over 25 years, a special treat we always enjoy. We live on the West Side of Manhattan where there hasn't been an Indian restaurant there that can touch Mumtaz for delicious meals, breads and attentive service. We drive over from the West side to the East side, it's worth the trip! I especially love their Vindaloo, Saag and Korma dishes and the breads are never greasy. I've taken business associates and friends here who have returned themselves having enjoyed their time here. Truly one of the best Indian restaurants in Manhattan.
