    Wonderful, reliable, tasty

We eat here frequently and especially enjoy the fish specials. The atmosphere is great, except maybe Friday evening when a noisy after-work crowd is there. The value is exceptional before 7PM Mon-Thur and Sun. The service is usually good, but since we are regulars, maybe they take special care of us.

    Mediocre delivery service and food

This is the second time within the past 2 months that we tried takeout from this restaurant and had apoor experience. The first time our order did not come prepared right and to my surprise the manager wouldn't even redo the order! This time our order came with items missing. We didn't even bother to call judging from the response we had the last time. Also, the pizza with proscuitto was extremely salty and the buffalo wings tasted gamey. I think we have given up on the restaurant. It use to be better years ago, but maybe they are under new management or something???

    Delivery Hardly Delivers at all!

I have heard great things about Mumbles so last night my boyfriend and I decided to order in. After waiting over fifty minutes for our order, we called to find out what was going on. We were told that the delivery man came back after being told that we did not want the food. We kindly said this must be a misunderstanding. After not only a lack of apology, but complete rudeness the man on the phone he said the delivery man will be sent back. Upon arrival, we noticed the delivery information was completly wrong-- the address, the phone number, the intercom number. Part of me wishes the food was never delivered in the first place. Then I would not have to have paid $7.50 for my "Caesar Salad" which was basically a few pieces of lettuce and some croutons. Not even good pieces of lettuce, but the stump you throw out. The pasta was decent, but overall I had such a bad taste in my mouth after this experience. Maybe eating there is a better, but I will refuse to ever find out.

    Great Value

Just went here for the first time on 11/10. I had the grilled salmon and my partner had the Chilean Sea Bass. Both were excellent. Atmosphere was relaxing - not too noisy, not too quiet. Service was great. I will definitely be eating here more often.

    Great Neighborhood place

Mumbles reminds me of "Cheers' on TV; a busy neigborhood hangout. We ate there three times in January 2007. Each time was very pleasant and the food was very good. The Sunday evening special is a great value. The employees were all very pleasant and efficient. It's not a fancy place and I would not expect to have a culinary adventure there, but I recommend it highly.

    quite delightful

I've unfortunatly only been here twice but both occasions where quite memorable. You simply must try the lemon pepper calamari the extra flavors really make the calamari pop and as simple as lemon pepper is it's still the most effort I've encountered with calamari.. The herb crusted gulf shrimp was quite delicious as well.. do not be alarmed the color is green but it is only the crust which is merely due to the herbs.. The presentation of the plate is beautiful and so dutifully arranged. The chilean sea bass was a special I got the second time around.. I'm not one to have fish out I usually stick with chicken, steak, pasta, or shellfish but wow was I impressed with this. It was a modest proportion yet surprisingly filling.. and this too was plated so beautifully on this lovely square plate with fried, julienned sweet potatoes mounted atop the little sea bass hill.. It was so cute like something prepared on iron chef lol. Oh and I cannot stop typing without mentioning this pear tart I believe it was with almonds it was also heaven sent lol try it and no do not share it. That was the single mistake I made there it's simply too good to share.

    Thanks for ruining the night

Mumbles looked like a respectable joint with decent fare, at least on the outside. All of that changed with the rudeness encountered from the wait staff, as well as the manager. One of the most effective quick and dirty ways to assess the quality of a restaurant is the manager. When the manager himself is being defensive, rude, and unapologetic -- what more is there to say? We waited 25-30 minutes between getting our doggy bags to getting our checks. Mind you, our waiter walked by our table 7-8 times without a single glance. When we finally ran out of patience and tracked down the waiter, he was simply defensive. We asked for the manager to come in... who was equally defensive and unapologetic. A simply initial "sorry - is there anything I can do for you?" would've sufficed. We weren't looking for a discount at all, mind you. The highlight was the waiter, who - in tandem with the manager made a rude remark to me. At that point, I knew all hope was lost. Where is the decency? Moral of the story - any restaurant whose waiter is rude and manager is rude even after waiting 30 minutes for a check is... simply not worth a second look. I hope to save you from a ruined night... because no other couple deserves to go through that garbage of an experience ever again. Good luck.
