The poorest pasta I ever had!
I wanted some pasta for delivery so I decided to try mumbles and get the linguine with shrimp and broccoli in white wine and garlic. It was the poorest pasta I have ever had! The sauce was tasteless and very watery. The Parmesan cheese they sent with it did not taste like Parmesan cheese and there was barely any linguine in the dish. After dropping in a load of salt it was barely edible. Definitely not ordering pasta from there again!

Not worth it
Service was bad. Music too loud for dinner crowd. Thankfully, it emptied out and we were a part of the emptying.

Folks- it's a pub
A great pub, that's clean and has a good beer selection. Most pubs that offer food in this area are overun by roudy people and prob have not turned on the oven in 3 years. Not here. The food is quality, service is good, and value is great. I mean, if you want fine dining - go to Bouley. Mumbles is what it is - a great pub

Prices Up, Food Quality/Selection Down
Used to be a great neighborhood spot but they took advantage of the fact that there were not many similar alternatives in the area, and prices for food and wine have skyrocketed while food quality and menu selection have gone down. Service good, except for snobby greeter. Brunch still a fairly decent deal; dinner so not worth the price anymore. What a shame.

mixed bag
I've been to Mumbles a few times since I live nearby. I wouldn't travel out of the way to get to it, but with outdoor seating, it's good during the summer. The brunch food I've had is generally good (but not great). Dinner is a different story. I had a sea bass special recently that looked & tasted poor. My friend's french onion soup was an equally frightful sight (& scent). I could see food of that quality being served at a public school cafeteria, but not at a restaurant in NYC. There are way better places in East Village - well worth the 10 min walk from 17th St.
