Why oh Why did you change?

I've been a Mugs customer for the past 8 years. Sometime in the last year they changed their menu for the worse. They removed some favs from the menu, added some sub-par choices, raised the price and lowered the quality. I am beyond disappointed. I love going to mugs for a beer and some reliable pub cuisine. Not anymore. I've tried 90% of the new menu over the last number of months and I can honestly say, yuck! I tried Mugs. I really tried! Perhaps the move isn't to defrost your food, but to defrost your chef. The menu tastes so defrosted and cheap, I'd be embarrased if I owned the joint.

    Extremely SAD!

Well I have been a patron of Mug's for at least 15 yrs and it's really a shame, that I have to write a bad review. Mug's has been known for the Williamsburger, which HAD an ice roll that made it perfect, but now they replaced it with a terrible plain hamburger bun, which breaks apart and made my meal horrible. And to TOP it off, they raised it a buck higher. I think they should take 2 steps back. So after 15 yrs I will, look for a new place!

    Who's Our Waitress?

My boyfriend and I have been going to Mugs for about 5 years now. Not once have we been disappointed... until last night. We get there around 8:45 and find a table. We wait for our waitress to bring us menus and take our drink order, as per usual. Our waitress never even stops at the table. After about 15 minutes of waiting, the "hostess" brings over 3 menus for four people and says she has to find out who is our waitress for the night... Shouldn't that have already been decided before they opened for dinner?! After waiting for another 15 minutes, our drink orders have not even been taken. We get up and leave. The funniest part was that the same hostess was telling another group of 4 that we were "just finishing up" and our table is now available. HILARIOUS! We let them know that we were leaving because we haven't even spoken to the wait staff after 30 minutes of waiting! Normally, there are three really great waitresses there, that already know our order before we sit down. They were MIA last night. They're food is good for bar food. We always order the buffalo calamari and the fish of the day, which comes with some awesome mashed potatos. If you're going here, I recommend going early and on a weekday, when it's not nice out (to avoid the williamsburg park crowd)

Great NY Strip Steak w/ Fries!

I've never been disappointed. Muggs and Teddy's have the best "pub food" in the area and the beer selection is unmatched. The best value is the strip steak and fries. The vegetable that come with it could be cooked with a little more flair but that's not such a big deal. The steak with a Guiness and a single malt scotch...mmm...heaven!

    Best pub dining in Williamsburg

Mug's has good atmosphere and surprisingly great pub fare. Personally I love their buffalo burger. This is my favorite pub dining location in Williamsburg (which is saying something). They have a plentiful beer menu, and the waitstaff is pretty friendly. Good value, recommended.

Tasty food, & beer with great service!

I've been going to Mugs at least once a month for the past 12 years, and though the neighborhood has changed, the value of what you get at Mugs has not. A down to earth, very affordable, regular food menu, coupled with some tasty specials make Mugs Ale House a great stop for food and beer. They have 30 taps of craft beers, 2 cask handpumps, and bottle list of approximately 150 carefully chosen, and hard to find selections. The bar & wait staff are pleasant, knowledgeable, and very eager to please. Mugs has neighborhood friendly vibe throughout!
