I recently came back from Israel, which had the best Middle Eastern food that I have ever had (never went anywhere else in The Middle East though), and I remember having the most amazing hummus in the market place in Tel Aviv tucked-away behind venders and I have been craving it ever since. I went to "Israeli" restaurants all around the city with no luck. I find that most Hummus is far too thick and pasty, and not light and creamy enough. I don't want to it to stick to my gut and taste like I am eating a jar of tahini. Even though Mr. Falafel is from the Egyptian Middle Eastern persuasion, it is the closest to authentic Middle Eastern hummus that you can get in, especially in BK. Now, I want to say that I don't believe, based on my experience that authentic hummus is heavier on the sesame, therefore this hummus gets a big hitchhiker's thumbs-up! Oh, and their baba ganoush is the best I have had in the city and their falafel is also a subtle and divine component. Go, go, go here and enjoy a piece of The Middle East in the Slope. Who knew?

We just started ordering from here - the chicken kebob sandwich is unbelievable. Gyro and hummus are great too. The falafel isn't my favorite but good. the hot sauce is awesome!

Found these folks too late in my stay in Park Slope. I have only ordered delivery, and everything that they have brought has been truly excellent. The falafel is fantastic, of course. But, for a meat and veggie lover like me, this place is a dream. Try the "Mr. Falafal Meat Combination" with a "Greek Salad" to get a sense of what they have to offer. I also recommend their omelettes for a late breakfast delivered.

First of all I just found out that they are going to bottle this stuff. Priceless! !

We love this place! We've been getting food at Mr. Falafel for many years, and we usually go for the vegetarian items. The falafel is authentic Egyptian style made with fava beans instead of chickpeas. Try Ali's Special or foule madamus for a change from the usual middle eastern fare. The people who work there are very friendly and sweet.

I love Mr. Falafel! The falafel is super tasty and their side fixings are fresh and delicious - the tabouleh is really great. The guys who work there are friendly and quick. The falafel combo for two is the best. It's fast and yummy. The only downside is it's basically cash only because they only take AmEx. Small price to pay for consistently excellent falafel, though.

...for over an hour. I called them and was told "He's leaving in a few minutes." Seriously? It takes about 8 minutes to walk, slowly, from Mr. Falafel to my house. Food is good but don't expect it to show up anytime soon.
