Morrell Wine Bar & Cafe

The wine either by the glass or bottle choices are fantastic. We ate dinner as well and had the cheese plate, soup, hamachi and lobster salad for an appetizer. All were very good and the main courses were the salmon and snapper and dessert was excellent. Having only come here for wine, I was pleasantly surprised with the food as well. The only complaint is the upstairs restaurant part could have been a little dimmer in light.

A couple of friends and I sat at the bar, After tasting a number of great wines we started to get a little hungry. We just ordered a few appetizers and man were they tasty so we proceeded to order some entrees and we were hooked. We've already gone back three times. This is a great place to go if you just want to hang out, drink some great wine and eat some great food.

Beautifully conceived and well-executed food. Amazing wine list. Service knowledgeable about wine and food, but a little slow. Try the "sliders" - so good!

I've only been here for the wine, never had the opporunity or inclination to try the food. If the wine and service at the bar are an indication about how the restaurant will be then this place rocks! The wine selection is fantastic, prices are quite high but face it, you are in mid-town Manhattan literally across the street from Rockefeller Center - it ain't gonna be cheap. If you love wine or just want to explore new wines without dropping your mortgage on a bottle definitely checkout Morrell's.

Went to Morrell's after work with a friend and found a great wine bar with fantastic food! The wine list seems intimidating at first, but it has fun and interesting description that make choosing a wine by the glass easy and enjoyable. Split the *awesome* lobster and pea soup to start, then had the cheese ravioli w/ prosciutto and my friend ordered the scallops - all delicious!

I was pleasantly suprised when my wife and I walked into Morrell wine bar for a couple glasses of wine. The selection by the glass was amazing. This is an unassuming little place because it says Wine Bar and Cafe on the front of the restaurant, but this is certainly a bit of a play on words. After, having a cheese plate and a couple glasses of wine we decide to move into dining room and order from the dinner menu. Wow! I didn't really expect to have such fine food as Foie Gras terrine with a dried fruit marmalade. My wife had the Lobster Fricasse with Chilled Pea Soup. I tasted hints of tarragon and mint that really complimented the sweet pea soup. There was a good amount of lobster in the soup along with "bruleed" tomatoes and something called Caricas. The whole meal ended up being a pleasant suprise. I had the Lamb loin cooked Sous Vide. Delicious! It came with ramps, Fava Beans and Yukon Gold potatoes. There were some other things on the plate, but the Lamb was cooked perfectly. We had a very enjoyable meal and would definitely recommend it.
