Morning Star Cafe
Posted by John from Jacksonville on 05/13/2006
Through the years I have always been thankful for the Morning Star Cafe when visiting NYC. The breakfast is a lifesaver including as good a cup of coffee as you can get! Other meals are good, too, especially the soups and/or sandwiches I have tried. The waitress always have a smile and everything is "as clean as a whistle." In a town full of cafes/coffee shops I have found this to be the best!

Many things are very good about Morning Star except the morning cook's eggs are either rock hard and cold or under cooked so that the whites are still clear. Lunch and dinner are good value.

While staying at the H.I Midtown, frequented this excellent establishment on numerous occasions and was never disappointed. Great breakfasts, the lightest pancakes ever and the coldest OJ, and as for the Burgers exactly what you would want in the Big Apple. Go there its great.

I usually stay at the Pickwick Arms whenever I come to town, and MorningStar Cafe is where I usually do my breakfasts (and other meals, occasionally). You generally can't go wrong with any item on the extensive menu. My favorite breakfast is the California Omelet, and they do Greek food proud. Good, solid diner fare.

Great place to go before and after a drink in the neighborhood.

First thing to remember: this place is a diner. Don't go looking for 5 star cuisine at a diner. Morningstar has good food at a decent value and very fast reliable delivery. They are also open all night. I always enjoy what I get and always call back.
