Overrated
Very disappointed in this place.. Not sure why there are so many positive reviews.. I went for breakfast the other morning and it was probably the worst eggs and bagel I have ever had.. Not sure how you can mess up that kind of breakfast, but this place pulled it off.. Plus it was really expensive.. Needless to say, I wont be going back their anytime.

Best diner in NYCHIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
This place has the best diner food in NYC. The food is always delicious and tasty. Their chicken fingers are the best I've had in the city. I also highly recommend their omelettes. They are also always very friendly, fast and efficient. Although a little pricey it's well worth it! Plus, it has a great diner feeling if you decide to stay and eat there.

Great breakfasts
We`ve just got back from 5 days in New York and went to this diner for breakfast a few times to avoid the high hotel prices. The food was great and there was plenty of choice for us all to be happy ( 2 adults and 3 boys). The portions were huge by English standards, freshly prepared and well cooked. The service was fast and the coffee kept coming It's a small place and easy to miss, so if you want to visit make a note of the address.

Fantastic for a NYC diner.
We were visiting New York for a week and stumbled upon this fantastic joint a day or two in - ate breakfast there every morning for the next 5 days. The friendly service coupled with great value for money and flavor kept us coming back for more. I would recomend this place to anyone, to everyone!

A good coffee shope / diner
The Morning Star Café is a good New York coffee shop / diner. The entrees are respectable well prepared decent meals. The breakfasts are adequate, the sandwiches are good, and the chef's salad is more than I can eat. There’s a benchmark for a New York diner – hassle free service, decent food, and reasonable prices. I’ve recently become a fan of their takeout deliver service – it’s fast and just the right thing when you can’t bear another Chinese or sushi serving. If you are looking for diner style fare, Morning Star makes the benchmark. Don’t expect more than a diner though.

Great food, but.....
The food is great, but early morning ordering is not so great. With me working the overnight shift, by 5a/6am my dept is sooooo hungry, so we decided to try this place for breakfast. Today is the 5th day we've been calling this place and no one answers the phone..(isn't this supposed to be a 24hr restaurant???) Working on the east side of manhattan, our delivery options are very limited @ 5/6 in the morning. Update: they finally answered the phone only to tell me they're not 24hrs (only on Fri/Sat) Unbelieveable!!!

Really good
Delivered late right before closing around the holidays. Guy was really nice on the phone. Definately went the extra mile. Fast delivery, and even included mustard without asking for the ruben. Ruben was good. What more could you ask for?
