    Great place

I must say I am not such a fan of Pastis, so I was a little hesitant to try Morandi. I must say, I am very happy I did. The place is adorable with a great menu, affordable prices and all the wait staff is from Italy.

Don't know why its getting bad reviews

I don't know why people are bashing this place so much. I thought the service was extremely accomodating and the food was good. My only beef was the fritto misto is mostly anchovies but maybe that is traditional? The scene is on the older (early 40s) side..which I found odd for the neighborhood but it was still good.

    Very Disappointed

Being a huge fan of Pastis and a native Italian, I had high hopes for this restaurant. Tried several dishes on the menu and all were equally disappointing. The food overall was bland and some dishes (like the meatballs) really tasted off and had to be returned. The place itself looks nice, and the service was good - my advice: go for the atmosphere and have a drink at the bar, but skip dinner.

    Delightful dinner

A delicious meal, with attentive service and a check that showed it was a good value. We will be back, and frequently.

    Love this place!

I live in the neighborhood and will make this my new 'favorite' eatery, having dined here two nights in a row. The online menu here shows only a smidge of this restaurant's offerings. Aside from the warm yet efficient service, nice atmosphere, and excellent acoustics, the food is fabulous. I have eaten my way thru, or have sampled: A fine eggplant parm appetizer special; Crispy fried baby artichokes w. a squeeze of lemon; Baked buckwheat pasta w. speck, cabbage and fontina (an amazing take on Mac & Cheese!); Roasted rabbit; and Tartuffo like no other. Early diners (5:45 - 6 pm) get a table w.o. a wait. Enjoy!

    Might get better with time?

Kim and I had dinner at the bar last night. Very crowded, with alot of Mr. McNallys friends dropping. Seemed like a reunion to us. The food is good, but not great. The service should get better with time. I do think will will go back, maybe for a few small bites and some drinks with friends. I do not think this will be a dinning destination for alot of foodies. I also do not think this will measure up to any of the other restaurants in Mr. McNallys hands. It might be viewed by some as a New York Olive Garden. I wish them good luck, and it is a must try, if only once....

    Simply great

In one word... breathtaking! The atmosphere was wonderful and welcoming yet the staff remain professional and not overly personal. On the night I went, there were tons of local NYC celebs and everyone was having a good time. I stayed at the bar so I can't comment on the food but it looked pretty damn good too. The wine list is comprehensive!
