    A Novice Could've Produced Better...

Ordered the orrechiette with sausage & broccolli rabe tonight. The orrechiette were raw and hard. The broccolli rabe was so overcooked that it was discolored and mushy. The dish was completely oversalted. I've eaten here 3 times over the last year and this was the first time I was disappointed with the quality of food and service. I hope this is not the beginning of what was thought to be a consistently good restaurant.

was something up with the kitchen?

Everything started fine, and the mussels were delicious though it's hard, though not impossible, to screw them up. But my husband's fried salt cod (the Friday night special) was WAY salty, and a portion of my chicken was, well, raw. I know salt cod can be salty, but with care like soaking it and changing the water several times, it's really tasty. I'm not a complainer, but this was not good. I don't write reviews for only mildly bad experiences, and I really wanted to love Morandi, but in addition to all that, the service was lackluster. Skip this place until they can get the kitchen together.

    my new fav brunch place

Delish. Great eggs and cappuccini. It's the kind of place you want to take your parents (if they're in town for the weekend) so that ya'll enjoy a wonderful sunday brunch in a beautiful brick-walled space.

    A Great Italian

We had a wonderful Italian meal here on a Saturday night everything was faultless - even though we were 20 minutes late this was not even frowned upon. Wonderful food and wine with courteous staff. The atmosphere in here too was buzzy with a full bar. When back in NY we will be visiting again.

    decent food, poor service

Cool place, good atmosphere and decent food but I must say the service was pretty bad. After waiting over 40 mins at the overpacked bar (even though we had a reservation), our waiter was rude, obnoxious, rolled his eyes, and pretty much ignored us all night. There is a good scene and the food was pretty tasty but the service is reason alone to think twice about returning.

    comment from Europe

Being used at eating food in Italy, this was the first place in NY where it tasted like 'home'. It is noice, but the food needs attention: delicate... not all those heavy things we Europeans don't like so often here.

    not your usual brunch

Brunch for 4 was somewhat expensive, but the food was very good as was the service. Not your typical mimosa and a meal brunch. This is only brunch as it's between breakfast and lunch. Everything is ala cart, but interesting dishes well prepared. Nice looking space although a little noisy. Will probably try dinner at some point.
