    DT Eater

Went to Morandi a few weeks ago with another couple. The atmosphere is great, very sceney. You feel like everyone who walks through the door is SOMEONE. Everyone is constantly peaking around the room to see who's who in the crowd. (And btw, while I was there Gwenyth Paltrow walked right by our table and sat in the back). Just to forewarn you all, it is LOUD. I mean, we were sitting across from each other at a fairly small table, and we were practically yelling at one another. Our waitress was SUPER helpful, really nice, and attentive. The food here was really good, but small portions. My friends split a pasta, and when it was brought to the table (pre-split into two portions) I was like, uhhh....Is that enough for you? I am not kidding when I say that it was a palm-full of spaghetti pasta. Bizarre. Still, it was a great evening and a fun, cool, hotspot atmosphere. I would most likely eat here again.

    Christmas Eve

I don't get all the poor reviews. There were 10 of us for CHristmas Eve, including 2 babies and presents. The staff couldn't have been nicer and more accomodating. We had the steaks (Shared the steaks!) and enjoyed every bit of it. They stsff made our CHristmas Eve.

    upsetting service

I came here for drinks and dessert and it was the most upsetting service ever. We arrived and sat down at the bar where we promptly ordered desserts, drinks and a cheese plate. First off, the waiter charged an extreme amount for a double shot of vodka (the cost of two drinks!). Secondly, the waiter forgot to put in our desserts to the kitchen and approximately 30 minutes later WE had to ask where they were. To top it all off, the waiter spilled our wine on the half eaten cheese plate and didn't offer a new one!!!!! They didn't comp our drinks, cheese plate and it wasn't even good. I will never go here again no mater what!

    what's with the coffee?

Morandi has a charming atmosphere both inside the spacious restaurant and outside where the people-watching can't be beat, but the food is just okay and pricey to boot. If you want a relaxing meal in one of the few restaurants in town that doesn't shove the tables together, you may be willing to put up with food that's just okay. What I really don't understand, though, is what's with the coffee? They make a very disappointing cup of espressolow quality beans would be my guess. Not a good sign for an upscale Italian restaurant in the Village!

    Officially Done With Morandi

Morandi is two doors down from my apartment, so I frequently meet friends there or order deliverythey have a pasta I love and I do enjoy the brunch options. BUT, the service gets worse and worsewhether I'm dining there or ordering in, it doesn't matter. It must be poorly managedand the wait staff seems to rotate weekly. For the money, not a good optionyou can spend the same or less at another place with friendlier/better service.

Great food for a people watching spot!

Delicious food for a people watching spot normally you don’t get the two together but in this case, voila! My friend and I started with the artichoke salad and the heirloom tomatoes with bucatini. The dishes arrived with the proper seasoning and ready to eat. After our appetizer we dove into the meatballs which must have had a half stick of butter aside from the pine nuts and raisins. How can those meatballs be so succulent and delicious at the same time? We also had the clams with homemade spaghetti and special request of ours. Truly a delectable meal, of course accented with Proseco, a great way to spend a people watching dinner.

    Way overpriced for average food

To be fair, the appetizers were delicious. The melon with prosciutto was refreshing and the stuffed olives were the best I've tasted. And I don't like olives. The pastas were very average. Too much lemon in the lemon Parmesan pasta. The beef ragu is fine, but nothing special. If you like reds, the Lazio Sangiovese is very reasonable and extremely tasty. By far the best part of our meal.
